One of the best sci-fi series ever! I used to watch every episode religiously on a Thursday. My biggest regret is only seeing about 10 mins of the very last episode. I heard Sam made it to some kind of bar where he met all the people he'd saved . . but does anyone know if he ever got home?

Also did Al ever return to his wife? . . . someone?

Sam turns down the oppurtunity to stay at home (he gets this chance in the last episode) and instead carries on his work until his death. Al stays by his side aswell as far as i can remember.

Like The Simpsons, the first few series were great, the next were OK...but by the end I couldn't be bothered to watch anymore.

Which was a pity, 'cos I did like the theme tune

I think sam did not get home, but i think al actually got back with his wartime wife, altho i am not sure because it has been a long time since it has been on and personally i thought the last episode left alot of questions un-answered....

He chose to let Al make up with his wife, and continued leaping without his help.

Sam leaps into a mining town bar, as himself. Interestingly enough, the miners are all characters from past episodes, only with different names. There is also an old broken down Russian miner with bad breath their named Gooshie.

Sam, stunned by the coincidences he is encountering, keeps getting little bits of wisdom from a bartender. The bartender is vague about who he really is. Sam finally asks the bartender if he is God; in which the bartender replies, "What do you think?"

By the time Al finally arrives (Ziggy could not get a track on where Sam was), Sam has been convinced by the bartender that he controls where he leaps.

Sam then leaps back to a previous episode, where he encounters Al's ex-wife Beth (who had married another man while Al was a POW in the Vietnam War). Sam convinces her that Al is alive, and to hold out hope for his return. Sam then leaps.

The final images are of a picture of Al and Beth together. After this image, it says that Sam was never heard from again.

I used to watch it too. It got worse though as it progressed, but overall still pretty good.

Sounds like a bit of a cop out hoping to cash in from the original.

Speaking of this though, what do people think of Scott Bakula as Captain Archer in "Enterprise"?

He's no Captain Kirk or even Picard for that matter, but for a Captain of a supposedly pre-Kirk era Starship Enterprise, he does a good job of trying to live up to the legends of William Shatner, Patrick Stewart et al,

Picard was and is by far the best captain! He does everything right and in such a right way!

Archer is amazing and Bakula potrays him very well. I dont like the decisions archer makes quite often, but then your not supposed too!

I used to want tpol as captain, but shes corrupt now, with her drug addiction. I say Mayweather for captain. He never does anything wrong, infact... he never does anything! Sigh!

Agree with you there. Just what the Enterprise needed - a Yorkshire lad :)

He he that always reminds me of when Deep Space 9 went back to the Tribbles episode. When Worf was asked why the Klingons looked different, he replied something like "Klingons don't talk about that period of history". :)

Maybe you should start a Star Trek thread. I could've sworn this one was titled Quantum Leap. :loopy:
