Topic.
I rang my Brother about it on Sunday as he installed it for me in the first place but he said he'd ring me back as he was going out, but never did ring me back on Sunday.
Does anyone know how to update AVG anti-virus? Also Windows security keeps telling me the virus definitions are out of date, how do I update those as there doesn't seem to be a link to any downloads when I go into it.
I need help with these 2 issues ASAP.
Thanks.
Rich
I had this problem with AVG 6 yonks ago, but not with AVG 7.
Only thing I can recommend is that you completely uninstall AVG and then reinstall from the website. Once you've done that, update again.
If you have any of the plug-ins in the Control Centre disabled, you will keep getting the balloon telling you that AVG is not fully functional.
When you've updated AVG, the Windows will tell you that your virus definitions are up-to-date, hopefully. The two things are connected.

Launch the AVG control centre. You can do this by either right clicking on the avg icon located in the bottom right of your screen or through the start program menu. there is a button in this control centre to click for updates

Load AGV, click on update, it does have one. Also depending on your connection to the interenet you may find that AGV starts and looks for an interenet connection before the connection is established, so it can't auto update.
Make sure you are using the AVG free edition, other option, uninstall it and redownload it.
So I clicked teh updates button and it says "no new updates available at this time"?!
There must be updates available if it's telling me that it's out of date surely?!
I'm on 512k Broadband from Wanadoo by the way.

uninstall it and reinstall it, or better still, redownload it. sounds like the easiest option.
It's possibly trying to tell you that AVG7 is out of date Rich. AVG 7.1 was released earlier in the week.
I'd just download and install 7.1 ;)
One word for you.
NOD32
None of these problems and its a whole lot better than AVG
I had this problem recently and sorted by restting the time and date on the pc.
