CherryNicole 20-02-2006, 21:11 Hell yeah! If they're going to speak that loud they blatantly want you to listen!! I have on occasion used a glass, I must admit :D

Pleased its not just me, boyf thinks im a nosey git and gives me the evil eyes if i mute the telly when hes watching something to hear the neighbours, so i've kinda stopped doing that...or they'll be hearing us! i press my ear to the wall when hes not around aswell! works as well as a glass  lol!
My neighbour is the loudest women in the whole world!
The whole street knows her life story. Its awful in the Summer as your trying to sunbathe and her squarking gets in the way.
How pleased were we when their 'for sale' sign went up
redrobbo 20-02-2006, 21:23 I live in an old end-of-terrace house. Although I never hear my neighbours through the wall, I sometimes hear their bedroom light being switched off when they go to bed.
Goodness knows what they hear in my house though!? :suspect:
(And no, before anyone asks, I ain't telling! :hihi: )

Yes but since the boyfriend moved out its been really boring. No daily rant calling him a useless w*****, no bedtime shenanigans. Will she get another boyfriend soon? There have been a couple of contenders recently, either that or she has found a battery operated friend.
mega_monty 20-02-2006, 21:29 Our neighbours are very quiet and keep themselves to themselves, but next door but one seem to like to conduct their whole business outside in the street, why do people do this ? dont they realise everyone can see and hear ?

Lol! Yeah we also hear that kinda stuff aswell, i think the womans been watching abit too much sex and the city or something shes so loud when there, ahem, gettin' it on! Very over the top! You dont need to mute the tv and quite frankly i dont wanna hear that! :gag:
FairyNormal 20-02-2006, 21:34 My neightbours are currently driving me mad!! She has THE most annoying laugh and talks/shouts really loud. Never in the day though, always at night and usually after 9pm. They also hammer and bang a lot at night too. And this was the miserable cow who complained about my kids doing penny for the guy at 2:30 in the afternoon cos she couldn't hear her TV!! I don't need to mute my TV to hear her as she is so loud.
bjshooter 20-02-2006, 21:50 My neighbour is the loudest women in the whole world!
I have to disagree my neighbour is definately the loudest women in the world, there is no need to try to listen you can't miss it.:hihi:
SatanInHeels 20-02-2006, 21:58 i dont tend to hear very much from my neighbours apart from the dog yapping occasionally and a repetitive 'banging' sort of noise that is generally heard at the top of my stairs.. which i think possibly joins onto the guys bedroom.. god knows what it is :gag: do have to admit to turning the telly down n stuff tho if i do hear any voices coming from either neighbours house though n hate to think what they hear from our house!

We should make them move in together.... in a house far far away :hihi:
When I used to use a desktop PC I sometimes had to go out of the computer room as next door's toilet was on the other side of the wall, and I used to hear them doing a poo and then hammering hell out of the toilet roll dispenser! :o :gag:
I don't hear them that much otherwise, but when the lad was little sometimes I'd hear his sisters tormenting him and effing and jeffing and making him cry. It bothered me for a while but then he got big enough to fight back from the sounds of it.
Once I was on holiday and stayed next to an elderly woman and her slightly disturbed daughter who spent the whole holiday accusing each other of being "effing b*tches" and threatening to go home on the bus. I began to wish they would.
EDIT - one of the funniest things I ever heard was from my neighbours. Dad was out in the garden, like everyone else up the street, enjoying the sun, and the son was in the bedroom with his mate. The window suddenly flies open and he shouts "Dad? Are you gay?" Then there is a lot of giggling and Dad makes lots of manly noise and yells at him to shut the window and "bl**dy behave yourself!"
Kristian 20-02-2006, 23:34 Well, my boyfriend's neighbours seem to have bought up the entire stock of 'Whisper 2000' because what they don't know about us is nobodys business. :| Still, I guess there is little else to do when you're about eight hundred years old and smell of germolene
<<< Ends rant.

If only, we can but dream
sheff_minx 21-02-2006, 00:14 Our neighbour regularly wakes me up at 3am by making VERY over the top noises whilst doing the deed... It's disgusting.
She works late shifts so often comes in with all her mates at 1 or 2am, turns her music up and giggles for a few hours, before having a screaming match with one of them and them storming out of the house.
I wouldn't mind so much but it's a shared flat and she knows we can hear everything because she had the nerve to ask me once to "cry quieter"... at 10am on the day my grandfather passed away  I wasn't even making excessive noise to be honest!!!

She sounds lovely!
Yeah... i've done it in the past... my neighbours used to have extremely loud arguments so of course i gotta listen...
What is it about an argument that makes us think... ooo lets have a listen!? :D
Question... Who actually stops beathing for short amounts of time... due to not being able to hear properly!? :hihi:
joeyannie 21-02-2006, 07:40 my neighbours on one side truely are from hell. They play music 2-3 times a week (on weeknights) from about 2am til about 5am, and jump up and down or play drums or something at the same time, causing my house to vibrate. The music os so loud I can hear it (word perfectly) through the 2ft wall, 2 closed doors a pillow and a set of industrial earplugs!
They also shout all the time...obviously no volume control and are generally inconsiderate *@**** students.
So I am filing an official complaint to the council in the hope of getting a noise abatement notice served on them Failing that I am going to continually harrass their landlord until he agrees not to renew their contract for next year.
I am generally a nice and tolerant person and have nothing against the vast majority of students, but turn nasty when I only manage a couple of hours sleep before having to get up at 6 to go to work!
I can hear my neighbour's brats racing around and screaming all weekend when he has them; slamming doors, hitting walls, yelling, screaming, fighting, crying .... Other than that he's ok. I can hear my other neighbour laughing with his mates when they're over. A couple of the neighbours downstairs occasionally have rows at 3 in the morning which is lovely, but otherwise I'm ok. But all my neighbours are ok, take parcels in for me, etc., so no complaints.
When I lived at home, our neighbours at one time used to have really loud sex at all hours of the night which was funny to start with, especially when they're saying to my mum and dad that they don't make much noise (I'm guessing they meant, in general) lol
DaBouncer 21-02-2006, 07:48 Thank God (or maybe the bank) that we live in a Detached house.
Phooking hate noise coming from neighbours through the walls.
So much more peaceful now :D
I have newish neighbours - they've been there about 6 months. Look like a really lovely couple, gorgeous baby, everyone on the street thinks they are the ideal couple. But everyone on the street doesn't live next to them. They have a blazing row approximately every 2 days, call each other names I've never even heard before, and generally screech at each other constantly. I sometimes wonder if they realise just how much the sound travels through the walls. Its so bad sometimes that when it goes quiet I actually wonder if they've killed each other ! :(
Lucretia_73 21-02-2006, 09:10 I live in relative peace compared to that lot:o
I've been getting mildy irritated (or disgusted) lately as the bloke in the flat below me has some kind of chesty/phlegm problem and I can hear him hacking and gagging all the time.:gag: Very attractive and kind of off putting when I have company!
I can hear talking when he has people round too but muffled and I'm not interested enough to try putting a glass to the floor. I usually turn up the sound on my TV or laptop so I don't have to hear. He and another neighbour seem to spend a fair amount of time talking in the stairwells on the landing below me too and there, sound travels up to my flat.
Every so often he'll have a mad moment and his TV will go on really loudly at some ridiculous time of the night, or he'll start hammering something at gone midnight:loopy: but thankfully it doesn't last long. I can also hear him hoovering and the water pipes in the building hiss too but that doesn't bother me too much. Just the hacking and rumbling bronchial noises...urgh. But if I can hear that I wonder what he can hear from my flat...:o
Question... Who actually stops beathing for short amounts of time... due to not being able to hear properly!? :hihi:
 Again, pleased its not just me!
Part of the reason we moved up Stannington from lower Walkley (S6 5) was due to problems with a Neighbour who reckoned we made too much noise :loopy:
Apparently she transferred her hostility to her new Neighbours as well when they moved into our old house, thankfully she has since moved out to live near her son, daft old bat was a manic depressive and nutty as a fruitcake...

I exchanged contracts today....
SpeedwayDan 21-02-2006, 14:58 haha, i admit i've had a listen when i've heard arguments, i've never resorted to using a glass, but i have muted the tv and held my breath occasionally:hihi:
there's no more arguments now though as the husbands left
 Again, pleased its not just me!
I just knew i wouldnt be the only one... how can you hear properly? when all you can hear is yourself breathing against the wall... lol
Glad i dont earwig often... :hihi:

Do you happen to live near me, the woman next door is sooo loud, and its always on a saturday night, she comes in and her and her partner argue (which is normally as im comeing in or going ot bed) and then you hear her sobbing all night, but it never seems its his fault (and you can hear LOUD AND CLEAR) and christ when they are at it she has a good set of lunges i tell you that! This saturday night i had my cousin staying i was babysitting and she heard them argueing the woman was banging on the wall, not sure why as i have never told her to keep it down (YET)
i heard her tell (or rather shout) to the trick treaters to bugger off last year, where as i had a basket of sweets for them and my windows/doors never got egged, unlike hers.
killerbabe 21-02-2006, 17:52 yeah i admit to muting the tv when i hear some one arguing next door, u just gotta know what they are arguing about and plus i have nothing better to do!
Best thing was when one of my housemates got so bladdered that they couldnt find their key to get into their room, was sat outside on the landing sayin over and over again that she couldnt find her key.....this was about 3am and everyone else was asleep and couldnt be arsed gettin out of bed to help her lol but in the end the dozy cow was sat on them! :hihi:
Yes, I once listened to my bro's neighbours when they shouted and a baby cried. Only cos you dunno whether something bad's gonna happen.
Do I do it habitually and see what they get up to ? No. ;P
Well I used to live further down the village to where I am now and in that house the walls were pretty thin, tho the neigbours diddnt realise this at the time & they didnt argue, our bedrooms were back to back & we could hear a lot of other fruity melody's of a night time which we didnt need to enhance by means of whisky tumblers or holding our breath.
It was hapening quite often (more than me & my girlfriend anyway).
So it encuraged us to get it on more often.....actually more often than them!
But they left I got less :(
I miss them now!
