So we all know the haloed turf of beautiful down town bramall lane is the finest ground (ahem) in the land, but what are you choices for best and worst grounds in England?

I bring this up as i just looked at the picture of B&H albion on skysports website and its absolutly awful!

So i got curious as to what everyone else thought...
please discuss!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I can't stand the new breed of bowl grounds that are popping up. Pride Park, KC Stadium, Madjeski, Stadium of Light... all the same to me.

Give me a ground with a bit of character and a decent pie and I'm happy :)

The worst I have seen is Old Trafford,Stamford Bridge,Portsmouth. The best I have seen is the Blades ground it looks in fantastic condition.Mourhino is an idiot he said there's nothing wrong with Chelsea's pitch he must be blind.

Not sure if you are talking about the grass or the grounds here.
Worst i have ever been to following the Blades was Gigg Lane :help:
Best would be Anfield, Carling Cup semi, what an atmosphere

For me Old Trafford or Millennium Stadium are the best. I've been to a few dumps like the old Manor Ground, Blundell Park, Vale Park but they all have or had a charm. Readings ground is soul less with nothing round it and filled with inbred plastic locals, what a depressing place. Don't even get me started on the new Wembley, the ground is right enough but the area its in is a right state, nothing close by just a run down industrial estate and a dodgy estate of council houses, not a patch on the Millennium Stadium.

I like old trafford, last time we went on the train and the rail link is spot on.

I agree on Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge was OK as well.

Worst? They all blend into one another after a while, but from recent memory, Oakwell and Selhurst Park were not great.

Yep Selhurst Park isn't particularly great, in a grim area too. Wasn't a fan of Tranmere either but that's because of the area it's in. Layer Road and Kenilworth Road are (were) probably the worst grounds.

Old Trafford doesn't have great legroom, but the stadium is incredible.

done Selhurst, location is a bit of a pain but ground itself is ok, Tranmere is ok again, nothing particularly good or bad about it.

Stamford Bridge, not been since the days of the old god track when it was a right dump and too far away from the pitch but had fun on the away end when the Blades played them in the 5th round of the FA Cup and about 7k Blades went!

Totally agree with Kenilworth Road being the worst, horrible area shocking ground, Saltergate wasn't far behind it either.

Best club ground for me is St James Park (Newcastle). For atmosphere and days out Brentford stands out a mile had 3 brilliant days/nights down there.

You are so correct, i thought it was only me thought that. There is one of the areas nearby called Brent I think and some of the houses are a right state. Their are cars outside in better conditiona nd probably worth more. I loved the Milenium stadium, because of the place itself and the fact you can get out in such a short time

Colchesters stadium for a newly built one is dire, the slip road to the ground aint even finished yet, so you have to a right long way to get to it.
The place is dead, full of pizza shops and well nowt lolol.

Arsenals statia is a class above any other league club, Its ben a while since i went to Exeter but that was a dated run down ground with a very small away end, about 12 steps deep !! i think the stadia has now had a lick of paint but the away end remains the same.

Agree with Madjeski but when i was there it was a great day out.
The concourse at half time was a non stop sing along, a real good day out on the ale and Blades won 1-0 on a scuffed goal from Brian Howard but the way we went off when it went in you would think it was a 30 yarder into the top corner :hihi:

P.S. Notice this is a really old thread with a post from one of the best most unbiased posters ever on here TOSH13 (RIP)

I think you've got your grounds mixed up, Home Park is a 20 thousand all seater stadium.

Filbert street in 79 for the atmosphere in the owls marathon cup replays against arsenal was fantastic. But have to say safety issues when cramming thousands on to the kop was never taken into consideration.

For a new ground i enjoyed the Walkers stadium, good atmosphere and nice and compact, saying that they did beat us.
