Maybe because brick is more cost effective than metal. :P

Which metal club/pub would this be?

To be honest, there's not that many big metal clubs in the country. The only ones I can think of are rock city, rock world, corporation and the Krazy House. I think the corporation is one of the best, along with the krazy house. Then again i'm biased like that.

There is only one metal club is Sheffield, which is the corporation, Why is there not more.

I have been informed that there is more than one metal pub in Sheffield, However i am not sure there is more than one in the city centre.... I have been informed that some class the casbar as a metal pub, but nowadays i wouldn't, it used to be a good place, but its gone down hill really.
There is really only the sportmans that is a metal pub, however i have only been in there on a saturday night, so maybe its only good on a saturday night

As far as I know there IS only one decent metal bar and that is the CRB on Eccy Rd. I agree the Casbar is a poor imitation of the mighty Wop. The Sportsman used to be ok but not been in for too long and last time was really poor. The Nelson is yet to prove itself ( hope it goes well ). Metal/Rock will always be the underdog to whatever dross Radio 1 decides to brainwash the masses with and we don't want to fill our decent pubs/clubs with assholes who think a good night out is lager, kebab, electronic rehashed music and a fight. (first two don't sound too bad actually!). Corp should get some adults in not "Sk8r" kids and it'll be ok.
I'll get off my soap box now shall I?

See the events link on this forum. Every night seems to be good. Good crowd, good music, good bar prices, what more do you need?

Try The Nelson, The Dove and Rainbow (which actually sells tickets for corp which are cheaper than paying on the door- formally the tut n shive), classic rock bar. I go to the Dove a lot, it's cool in there and most people that go there are regulars so everyone knows everyone. The barstaff are cool.
The Nelson is new but catching on well. I go there quite a lot too and have become friendly with the bar staff there.

So, there is more than one metal pub!!

Well, you've missed out the great clubs in London - Astoria Rock night, electric ball room, wag club, limelight, the dome etc etc. Loads in London!

I may just try them out again at some point. Depends who goes there i suppose......

Yeah appently it would seem that there are more metal pubs in sheffield and it looks like i may have to just go out to see what they are like.

Yeah, deffo try the Dove and Rainbow, I'd say that the Sportsman is more rock than metal as is the CRB.

Sheffield (or most cities really) wouldn't be able to support more than one metal club 'cause their surely isn't a big enough market for it.

I'd say that the Casbar is a rock club still - downstairs anyway on a Friday night, it just caters for an older market than the Corporation.

yeah i probably will at some point......

Depends when i am out again......... possibly in a few weeks time.

I remember where most of the pubs are and what they used to be like. So i am hoping the pubs have got better.

It also depends if i can get anyone to venture down that way.....

You could just take your walkman/cd/mp3 player and go to any pub of your choosing, that way you can have your own personal jukebox!

Just a thought.

Now isn't that just an interesting idea. Would be good for a laugh.
Trouble is would i actually be able to here the music i was playing over all the loud music?

uniB

Surely if it's metal you're listening to it'll drown out anything, unless you're listening to that 'girls metal'!

Only problem is you might miss the bell for last orders - oh, and you'll soon find yourself with no friends!

princess_rockchick

really depends if the pub i goto his the music on far too loud, just so i can not hear mine.

HHHHHHMMMMMM!!!!!!! a lock in, so to speak.........

Who needs friends when you have a lock in situation.....

Hmm true.............Know what you mean tho hard to get people to venture down there when there not into it......majority of my friends down in london were into RnB n Garage.......Not really a big fan of that type of music but then again they didnt like the Metal or Rock i listened to..........know how u feel tho piggy u aint the only one in the boat....Sheffield seems to have a few places even tho people have said some of the mentioned clubs n bars have gone down hill........but the people seem decent at any rate......well afew anyways....

Theres a metal club in the beauchief grounds. It flew right out of my hand whilst playing golf one sunday.

If found, please return it.
