View Full Version : Wadsley Park Village,Nice houses what about the area?
We've looked at houses in Wadsley Park Village and to be honest some of them are lovely. My concern is the area lower down. The Flats look horrible on the main road and i wondered if much trouble and ocassional Chav-ness spilt over into the estate. The whole area is still having houses built but i can't see them being able to charge top wack for houses in a crime hotspot. Has anyone got experince of the area? All advice and comments welcome.
fox20thc 20-02-2006, 18:05 Check out our website Middlewood Winners (http://www.middlewoodwinners.ik.com) for information about the local area. The 'flats' are maisonettes. Please don't let that put you off.

If you do some research you will discover that the crime in this area is relatively low in comparison to other parts of the city.
There's an MP lives there so it should be OK.

And a Bradfield Parish Councillor :)
I've lived at Wadsley Park Village for almost a year now and I've never had any problems with anyone.
The Winn estate doesn't look particularly nice but I've never seen or heard any problems with any of the residents. It's a decent place, Middlewood.
(Although I reckon the houses on WPV are slightly overpriced)
OK so i'll be rubbing shoulder with a councilor an MP and a couple of footballers. I wasn't sure of the area but loved the house. Went in at 5k under asking price (which apparently isn't the norm in Sheff) and he said yes. All being well and Blundells permitting (i pray the horror stories on here aren't true) we'll be neighbours. Thanks all

Well hello neighbour, welcome to Middlewood, see you at the festival!
We owned a rental flat on WPV for 3 years and sold it a few months ago. It always rented really well for a good rent and the tenants loved being there. We only sold it to release some capital and we didn't encounter any bother.
Yes there were the occasional kids who hung around and got a bit noisy but you get that anywhere and anyway they were kids who lived on WPV.
Good luck I'm sure you will like it there.
fox20thc 27-04-2006, 15:57 I have just posted the MIDDLEWOOD MESSENGER newsletter on the WPV notice board on the corner by the church.
Its to give you guys some information on the area, re tackling any anti social behaviour, telephone numbers and details of local facilities and activities.
Please take a look and any feedback is appreciated.

Excellant piece of work. I read it on the way home last night and it had two other people standing reading so it must have been interesting. I'm sure you'll get some feed back.
Alot of it was stuff i didn't know.

Erm.. no. :D
Hello, the middlewood messenger is quite useful. I look forward to strolling by just to see whats up.
I wonder if anyone in the forum is having problems with noisy boys in the area. It is becoming quite a nuisance for a group of young boys who perform skate boarding stunts with ramps and all, at the side of my house. The racket from the falling skateboards does not help with my daytime rest after my night shifts. Once I had scold one of them who was skateboarding on my wall and jumping off!! I do not think they understand what serious injury could have resulted because they were at it again the following day.
I did not want to approach their parents because I was not sure where they lived and neither did I want to cause any neighbourly tensions.
If anyone else has similar problems please post it. If any parents can counsel their kids that will be appreciated.
I am hoping things will improve once the playground opens.
fox20thc 12-06-2006, 12:15 Still hoping one of you guys from the village can help me. :D
