Hi All,

I have read on quite a few forums about people being on Talktalk and having their p2p/bt downloads throttled to 1kBps, etc. I think this is only after they have downloaded ridiculous amounts or something.

What I want to know is if anyone is out there who can download p2p/bt at normal speeds?

I want to know if it really is the case that you get throttled only if you download loads (eg >30gb ) or if it is throttled at all times???

Im looking at talktalk (who now has aquired onetel) becuase Im after a package that can offer 2MB broadband and UK anytime calls for a decent price.

My other option is Tiscali. If you have any info on that from personal experience, it would be much appreciated also.

Thanks :)

I'm on BT Broadband, but not on Talk Talk, but I'm not sure if that's relevant anyway.

BT Broadband's speed is a maximim of 2Gb, but if you live a long way from the exchange, that speed will be less.

BT Broadband have recently changed their capping policy, and usually that is only supposed to happen if one consistently goes well over the particular download limit for their package. There are several different packages, with different download limits.

There is more information about BT Broadband here (http://www.bt.com/broadband/bb_info.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1238979969.1140454392 @@@@&BV_EngineID=cccgaddhdhemlkecflgcefkdffndflh.0&obsNoSee=Y&vStore=1128&obsPage=/index.jsp&obsType=LINK&obsOID=99101).
