View Full Version : Hot Pants - Any Good?
I understand that Hot Pants at the city Hall has re-opened and I just wondered what the vibe is like now?
The last time I went was back in 2000 when it was at the height of popularity (it was also once a month). Just wondered if it’s still worth checking out.
Also, is it wise to buy tickets before the night or is it cool to turn up on the night?
Haven't been since it reopened but I was a regular before it closed. Far as I know, so long as you get there early ish (before 11) you're fine without tickets. Heard that it's as good as ever inside... same music - 70s in one room, 80s in other.
City hall has been refurbished with a cool looking bar and new downstairs toilets. Apart from that the ballroom itself looks the same as it always did - with cool light up dance floor.
Hot Pants is as good as it always was with Dean of Disco DJing and dancers "the boogie allstars" appearing throughout the night.
'tis a good night!
susiepoosie 20-02-2006, 16:44 I went two weeks ago and had a fab time.
Groovy man :hihi:
Ruskins on Tudor Square holds "Cool pants" the official pre-club bar evening for Hot Pants.
Resident DJ playing all your favourite hits, fantastic drinks offers and cocktails.
And, the only bar to get your Q-Jump tickets from!

SuperTommy 20-02-2006, 22:00 I have been there this saturday and it was cool. Real retro. I have enjoyed it!
And music wasn't as loud as in other nightclubs which was good.
Apparently every last Saturday of the month (that's tonight) the dancers put on a 70's themed stageshow.
hen nighter 12-04-2006, 02:20 im not from sheffield but would like to know .
what time is best to go in..
and how much does it cost without tickets .
where about this city hall is
i know where WEST st is and thats about it...
directions needed form flares or wokmania,,,
bigbladerob 12-04-2006, 15:08 Hi hen nighter!
i went there a couple of weeks ago, its a really fun night!
i didnt have a ticket and it cost me £6. its the city hall ballroom, the entrance is by around the right hand sidecorner from the main city hall entrance (if you stand in front of the city hall!).
if youre in wokmania, just head down west street and the city hall isnt far away! and its just up the road from flares too, so you cant miss it, its a big sandy coloured building opposite john lewis!
hope to see you there!
:P
How old are the people that go?
Not been before, and just wondering whether or not I should do.
Havent been here for AGES! But i love hotpants. Always had a good night, without the trouble and sweatyness of reflex/flares.
fairsue84 25-08-2008, 13:14 hey guys check out the evenings out there is a thread there for all you need to know about hot pants.
A mixed crowd i think, but supposed to be a good night.
Roveress 11-09-2008, 17:02 Went a while ago on a hen night. Loved it. Much better than flares in my opinion.
