I'm 5ft8 and my girlfriend is only a bit smaller than me and she doesn't mind. I do though, she's bigger than me with boots on and I feel like a right old turd.

Well I'm short at 5ft 2 without shoes and I've been out with short men in the past, but that's because I'm short and therefore they are still taller than me!

I know some girls will only go for tall men, but not all girls are that shallow! Hey look at nicole kidman and tom cruise!!!

Joking aside, do you really find it a problem? I have a few short male friends, we're talking 5 ft 3- 5ft 5, and they have gfs (same size and taller). I think it's to do with their personality and they way they carry themselves.

I'm 5'6, and could never go out with anybody taller than me. My ex was exactly my height, but with boots on I felt like she towered over me.

Kind of lessens your options a bit really, being short and not wanting tall women!

I dont really see the problem - my first Gf was over 6feet tall - and so bigger than my diminuative 5'11" - but it didn's bother either of us - whats the big height deal anyway?

i'm 5'10 and luv women that are my height and taller! i think it looks kinda cool having a taller woman by your side

although saying that i luv women of any height! :thumbsup:

Chris and I are very similar in height... If there were to be a difference, I'd say he is 0.5 inches taller than me... However when I wear my boots thats a different story... Well the heels are 4 inches big lol!

I have dated men who were 8 inches taller than me, and 6 inches shorter, quite a range huh

I would have to admit to being slightly uncomfortable with the shorter ones

Not so much because I mind, but because I think other people will remark on it and maybe laugh or poke fun

And I know that is crap crap crap of me, but it is still the truth

I used to like very very tall men best, but now having sampled a variety *wink*, I prefer a man to be about 2 inches taller than me, no more than that, so we can kiss and cuddle standing up without me having a crick in my neck

It is probably the national average. There are loads of men shorter than that, especially in poorer parts of the country

Im 5ft 8 and thats considered tall for a lass apparantly! My boyf is probly same height maybe a nano cm smaller, dont mind either way if the guy is taller or shorter... we're all the same lying down :wink:

I'm 5ft 10ins + having a shorter boyf doesn't bother me in the slightest. Its the person that matters, not the height. No matter what anyone says size does not matter.

Dont think you have to be tall to be dominating tho, its all about presence, I know some very awkward tall peeps and some very ferocious vertically challenged peeps!

Being tall aint all its cracked up to be, the air's thinner up here and you get hit in the face a lot with branches :D

This is a confidence issue rather than shortness..
If an individual has a concern about their own height, this is likely to affect self-confidence and therefore the way they interact with members of the opposite gender.
If a person isn't relaxed but tense and anxious about this (even if only a little...no pun) it'll be that rather than women's preference for six foot athletes that's the problem. Whilst this perception persists, a continued lack of "success" will increase the level of anxiety and the conviction that height is a major issue and thereby perpetuating the situation.
I suspect most women like blokes who are reasonably clean, intelligent and amusing.
