View Full Version : Starving DDB, and so gentle with the Gravy Bones
Rainrescue 24-12-2011, 19:03 Hi everyone - Meet Bonnie
Just one of the 2 emaciated dogue de bordeaux's we got out of a pound last week. This girl looks like a skeleton

Yet here she is gently and slowly, taking these little biscuits out of my hand whilst giving me a paw.

She breaks your heart. She's still producing milk - so no doubt just had puppies that some wicked person has done this to her. She still loves people.
We will get her better, we will have her back up to weight, and we will find her a good home - but what a shame that people like this are around.

She's a fabulous dogue and a credit to the breed.
She is just lovely. I will never ever understand how people can be so cruel to any animal. (And the animals still continue to put their trust in us after such treatment). I hope she has a happy life from now on :)
MARY POPPINS 24-12-2011, 19:47 Bless her and you for taking her, hope she finds a lovely new home she so deserves one after what she must have been through, we went to the pound yesterday and took all sorts of stuff, but couldn't look at any of the dogs , i know I could easily be tempted but I am still so raw from losing one of my fur babies that just the sight of any dog needing some love breaks my heart, but you are so brave and so kind to help these little ones well big one in this case.
*Peaches* 24-12-2011, 20:06 I couldn't bare to watch the clip, I hope that 2012 finds her the home so desperately needed xx
Couldn't watch it but disgusting!
hodgepig66 24-12-2011, 20:30 They are a fantastic breed are very loyal and love just plodding around....
My brother-in-law had one and he was a soft as a brush....
I truly hope she finds her forever home as she deserves to be looked after for the rest of her days.......
As iv'e said before i admire all of you involved in rescue as you are up there with the best......
I'd be useless blubbing, wanting to keep everything or getting angry with people.........
Rainrescue 24-12-2011, 21:27 The clip is fine to be watched - she's a proper lovely babe. She is now safe and in a coat, with 3 meals a day - wormed, flead and starting vaccinations.
She's on medication for the horrendous kennel cough that she's also got - but .....
She's on her way to her new life.
redstar1987 25-12-2011, 09:29 She is adorable, think I just fell in love <3
Thank you for all the hard work you put in to giving dgs a second chance. Really hope she finds a great new home soon.

dumplindeb 26-12-2011, 10:47 i am absolutely appauled at some of the human race,, only god knows what gives them the right to treat animals this way...so sad really
 so sad that someone can leave her to get so thin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But she is a lovely girl and so trusting bless her hope she gets a great home love the dogues a great breed x
Jackie2141 26-12-2011, 12:07 I despise anyone that causes suffering to animals, they are so devoted to their owners and so trusting and to use them as money making machines then cast them aside when they`re fed up with them well i dare not put what i really think of these things that call themselves humans. Bless Bonnie i hope she finds her perfect home soon.
Thank goodness for Rain Rescue, what a wonderful job you do. No one knows what these dogs go through, and how much heartbreaking hard work you put into getting them better for their new homes.
