pattricia 16-02-2006, 20:37 I used to feed my neighbours cat at my back door, then she moved house ten years ago. Suddenly last week it suddenly appeared at my back door to be fed.How can the cat remember where I live ? Has this happenend to anyone else ?
Yellowrose 16-02-2006, 20:46 Our cat has a bad memory. I feed him, then an hour later he acts as though he has never been fed. You wouldnt want him at your back door, cost you a fortune.

No I'm sure that if your neighbour's cat had appeared at my back door asking for food I would have remembered it.:hihi: :hihi:
daverity 16-02-2006, 21:29 Being serious now.......... I have heard of this sort of thing happening before, where somebody moves away a great distance and the cat reappears at its old home a few months later: however 10 years later that's got to be some kind of record-are you sure that it's the same cat?

Yes, the same cat, answers to its name, and looks at me as though it still remembers my face.Im not a big cat lover, but I find this weird.
I think they do, perhaps the owner died and the cat decided you were the next best thing?
Cats tend to be quite wiley, I've had them all my life and never known one to forget anything or anyone - especially anyone who hasn't been as nice as they could have. One of my cats simply adores a friend of mine who visits about once a year, she drapes herself over as much of him as she can and stays there for the entire duration of the visit.
weenireeni 17-02-2006, 21:16 wow 10 years is a long time!I once looked after a friends cat, it ran away after two days at my house and it returned 18 months later, god knows where it had been all that time! Cats have brilliant memories!!!!!!!

Poor thing knows what a complete horrible owner you are, that's why. It's found somewhere better to live - without you!!!
