You'll struggle to find much of a discount, but Amazon occasionally knock a bit off. Apple keeps a pretty tight control on prices though so there's not much margin for the retailer to offer money off.

Just think they do what it says on the box well so we seen to like them. Just done a google & it seems no cheaper on the web, so meadoehell here I come!

People are paying for a name. Its a marketing ploy.

If you know anyone at University they can buy them through the Apple online Higher Education store at a discount of roughly 10%.

That would be the cheapest I think, buying it through a University network (more of a discount than just logging into the education store from your own computer) - I was browsing on the store there and prices were lower for new ipods than used ones were going for on ebay.

I got mine with a Uni discount, but last time I looked they no longer had ipods on the education bit, just computers etc

Ipod Nanos (Apple HE store):

1GB: £99.88
2GB: £128.08
3GB:£164.50

So there is aound 10% discount on there.

They don't manufacture them anymore so you'll have a job finding them anywhere except ebay. My Ipod Nano does fine in a silicone case, seems about twice as robust as without! Had it 5 months and not a scratch yet.

I think John Lewis do a two year no-quibble warranty as standard on most electrical stuff.

Don't bother with iPod.

Buy the iRiver H10 instead.

Beats it hands down in every respect.

Much better looking, more features and most importantly - a detachable battery which can be replaced cheaply if it ever dies. Unlike the iPod where the machine is dead too if the battery goes.

I dont rate Ipods either and think they are a bag of poo, but to be fair, the OP has asked where to get them from, so I guess thats what should be discussed :thumbsup:

I know people hate them but I love my ipod shuffle.

You must imo buy new headphones cause the ones they come with are crap.

You can get the 512 version for £49.99 now.

I know it has no display and it really is a press and play machine but thats all i want fron an mp3 i store all playlists ect on pc and transfer what I want to listen to as and when.Great for gym.

I used to scoff at iPods, and actually at Apple in general. Some of their computers look like you have to buy them at the Early Learning Centre. Quite a few of their products are indeed style over content.

However, I gave in and bought a shiny new 60 gig black iPod a few weeks ago. It's lovely, and incredibly easy to use. I bought mine from Currys. You could use one of those internet shop comparison sites, but I think the iPod prices are pretty much standard from shop to shop. You might get a few pounds off at Amazon though.
