Are you sure this one has been around for ages... This is the for SKY+ Recordable hard drive set top box. Not the standard Sky digi box thats been around for ages.

The best deal I'd seen before this was Sky+ installed for £89 http://www.sky.com/ordersky/equipment/skyplus

Slightly off topic but what's the best Sky+ deal that existing Sky customers have managed to wheedle out of Sky (ie maybe by threat of jacking in their subscription etc)

I'm after Sky+160 in the very near future, but refuse on principle to pay the £60 installation charge that they want to enforce on existing customers (I'm not bothered about having Multiroom which I think would remove the instllation charge). I'd also like to get the £199 charge for the box reduced to say £150.

I've been a max subs paying Sky customer for 10 years so would have thought that would give me some leverage. But then again, probably not. My haggling history is usually "Sorry Sir, can't do anything on the price..there's the door..".

So the deal definitely exists despite it not being advertised on the website? And it's free installation, so all it would cost me for 2 mixes is £7.50 a month for the first three then £15 after? Sounds a very good deal I might have to consider it......

P.S. Oh and another question, does it require a dish as my landlord won't allow that....

EDIT: or not, you have to pay an extra £10 a month when you have a Sky+ box, what a rip off!

Its a deal offered to existing Sky+ customers, to tell their friends about. It came through the post under the guise of a valentines card - with vouchers to pass out to your friends.
And yes, you need a dish.

Yes, there is a £10 monthly subcription to Sky+ however this is waived if you take any premium channel. I've gone for the full package, sports and movies and will only cost £21.50 for the first 3 months.
