Has any one else been experiencing problems with this agency? My hubby has worked for them for the last 2 weeks on nights and is experiencing problems trying to get paid. Should have been paid on Friday but no sign of a payment. We have attempted to call them - no reply or constantly engaged, no reply to emails and Royal Mail are unable to assist. The Sun and Guardian have both ran stories today regarding this. Its just really unfair there are 2 weeks till Xmas and we have been left in this in this position. If anyone has any advice or alternative contact details can you please advise?

Angard are a joke! Theyve not paid hundreds of staff yesterday. They promised them a cheque of £350 to see them over. At 5:45 (15mins before end of 12hr shift) this morning Angards liaison officer told them unfortunately they wont get that cheque now! Obviously everyones fuming and upset! 1 woman last week only got £7.50 and when she phoned up they said 'you must have given us wrong bank details!!'
Angard are a joke and messing with money is not acceptable!!

I am an Angard worker at Royal Mail and have been for 4 weeks, I got paid correctly first week and received a payslip, since then I have received random payments, no payslips, but have I think by coincidence ended up with roughly the correct pay. I am one of the few lucky ones, as of yesterday Royal Mail payroll staff were intervening to get everyone paid something by one of 4 methods, BACS, CHAPS, Fastpayment, or a £350 voucher which can be cashed at any post office.

No, Angard are 51 per cent owned by Royal Mail and the relationship was created to reduce the cost of hiring temporary/casual labour, previously this was done to some extent via Manpower who charge around £15 per hour, don't know how much the actual worker receives, due to the current problems causing people to either not come in because they don't have the money for transport or not coming in because they haven't been paid Royal Mail are now bringing in Manpower temps.

Just out of interest who owns the other 49%?

I was led to believe that there was one share holder of Angard and that was Royal Mail PLC.

Just to add more confusion. From the Angard Website....

Angard is part of Royal Mail and has been outsourced to Reed Specialist Recruitment to manage

http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/local/barnsley/postal_workers_threaten_strike_1_4072032

CHRISTMAS deliveries of cards and parcels could be disrupted across Sheffield next week - as up to 350 city postal workers threaten to strike on Monday after not being paid.

The action, proposed by Christmas casuals working at the Brightside Lane sorting office, could cause chaos during the busiest postal period of the year.

The workers claim that employment agency Angard Staffing Solutions, which provides extra Christmas staff for the Royal Mail, hasn’t paid them.

Some say they are £700 out of pocket. One said he had worked 90 hours - and been paid £7.

The postal union has described Angard’s actions as ‘unacceptable’.

One worker, who didn’t want to give his name for fear of the sack, said: “They make us work like dogs - it’s real hard graft, proper physical stuff. We have to drag huge loads around and lift heavy boxes.”

He said he had no problems working as a Christmas temp for the Royal Mail before, but this is the first year he has had to apply through Angard.

Yet Angard is Royal Mail.

I hope these guys strike. Everybody should go on a wildcat strike till these guys are paid for the work that they have done!

mmmmmmm..............but using another agency it seems, just as we were told at RM !

If it is any consoliation to the temps at Royal Mail , some of the regular staff have not been paid properly, no o/t, no allowances etc.

Seems its a major problem this year.

It's ridiculous. And as a consumer there's little you can do as they have a monopoly but I'm really not happy about a company treating it's staff like this. If it was a shop I wouldn't use them ever again.

Interestingly even when they do pay us the payslip arrives after we have been "paid" which would seem to be in breach of the rules stated on this site.

Fill the ET1 form out and send it to them at the office address in Northampton (I think that is where it is).

Light a fire under them, there are a few on RM chat that are doing this so they will have to get this sorted or face lots of employment tribunals and I can't see them wanting that. The more of you that do this the more pressure they will be put under.

Been to Royal Mail this morning and a nice lady gave me a voucher which I have exchanged for readies at the post office, this just about brings me up to date on pay so in that regard I don't think I have grounds for an ET1. Other people with wages still outstanding be aware this is the last day these vouchers can be issued.

The butt wipes at Angard have sent me a letter telling me I owe them £nn and can I send a cheque to Royal Mail, I might consider this reasonable if they didn't still owe me £nnn holiday money and it's now nearly a month since I finished work. I don't think these letters are going to be at all well received by people who have incurred bank charges and experienced significant stress over the Christmas period due to the meltdown at Angard.

As a final comment to this, I am now all up to date with pay, I have received my P45.
