My partner and i are looking for houses in Sheffield and have noticed yu get alot more 4 your money in these areas. They are outside of Sheffield cnetre but is it worth the travel. For the money of a 3 bed terrace / semi in Beauchief you can get a 4 bed semi / detached in Waterthorpe but is the area ok. no kids so schools aren't important but my partner comes home late from work ocassionally so safety is. We ave seen a couple on middlecliff rd is tis OK. Any advice on that side of town would be greatly appreciated. We currently live in Woodseats so how does it compare?
my daughters boyfriend has moved into that area from woodseats area as well, dont think he'd move back home.
journey to work is easier & safety is no worse than any other community.
but it's always better to take precautions, better safe than sorry.

Me and the hubby moved to Sothall from Chapeltown 4 yrs ago and its the best thing we ever did. I have a 3 bedroomed detached house overlooking Rother Valley, where I walk my dog every day.
It only takes 20mins to walk to Crystal Peaks where you can buy everything you'll ever need. I don't even bother with Meadowhall anymore.
Sothall is a quiet & safe area, I can walk my dog late at night and not feel nervous.
The pubs etc are on hand for a good night out and it's cheap enough to get a taxi into sheffield or Chesterfield, if the mood takes you.
Sothall appeared in a local magazine last year and it was reported as one of the the safety and most desireable places to live in the country. So that should tell you something.
but please dont encourage any townies to move here.
this is the countryside still slightly.or semi rural anyway.
horses crap on the road, tractors are common place. men are men & sheep are scared.

Nothing wrong with Horse muck, very good for your flowerbeds!!!
If I'm not dog walking then I'm horse riding, no wonder I like Sothall so much.
