View Full Version : Clarke to return to Sheffield United 2012 & Evans Out?

I was just reading the Sheffield Star website and noticed that Billy Clarke could well return to Sheffield United after Xmas should he not win a place in the Blackpool set up before then. Holloway said he would be happy to let him back on loan should he not feature before hand and would favour United as he did well with them the first time round and enjoyed it there, plus Blackpool like to do business with teams they have a relationship with and they have that with Sheffield United.

Is this an early sign of Evans leaving you guys then? Beattie and Clarke partnership for January 2012?

Theres more chance of Petula Clark playing for us than Beattie...

Evans has apparently already agreed a move to Southampton if the rumours are to be believed and the reality is we need him off the wage bill.

Lets hope we keep Ched and Clarke comes back to the Lane...
No way will we see Matt Phillips back, Just watching Southampton vs Blackpool and he looks lively, even the commentator said going on loan to the Blades did him a world of good....

despite his high wages, i think we need him and need to take a risk on this one. Keep him till this season, then if we don't go up then sell him. We need all the strike force we can. It's all well and good getting rid of him because of wages etc, but we need to get out of this league, if we sell him in jan and don't go up, i think we will lose just as much money on fan revenue because the fans will disappear even more so.

It's been said in various papers and even on Radio Sheffield that Evans will leave in January pal, two reasons other clubs are after him and United need him off there wage bill because of the wage structure coming in to play next season.

His wages won't come into it next season, his contract ends before then.
Another reason they would like to sell him before he goes for nothing.

So he's defo off then, I didn't realise his contract was up, won't you lose some right money then selling him in January with only a few months left on his contract ?

His contract is up in July, his court case is March, no one will buy him with that hanging over him, the only thing I can see happening is a loan with an agreement to purchase if he is not locked up.
How can anyone offer him a contract with this hanging over him and also pay a fee for him??..

Rumour has it January will see Quinn swapped for Clarke plus cash coming our way and Joe Lewis from Posh coming to the Lane to challenge Simmo.

Simmo seems to have found his form again ...Quinn for Clarke is basically a saw off ...Be really worrying if we lost Ched but then again we (especially me ) said we would be in trouble when the Blackpool lads went back :huh:

Won 5 on the bounce since Clarke and Phillips went back;i didn't see it coming either.
Bournmouth away up next and we must have got a chance seen as they seem to struggle at home.

If evans leaves we have blown it

if he leaves it's critical we get someone else in who knows where the goal is. For me this is where Wilson is going to have to earn his money. I'm sure he will have some kind of contingency plan. We have momentum and it's all about making the right decisions. I heard on SF that Evan's contract is up at the end of this season so that makes it really awkward. If he goes I don't think we're necessary screwed we do have others who will score, but that's the thing, we shouldn't just rely on one person because one person doesn't win anything. If you look at other successful teams they don't just have one goal scorer, they have them all over the pitch, so i guess others in the team have got to have that mind set of they have to score goals too because what would happen if he got injured and was out for 6 month?

Just a thought, do we think that beattie is already ear marked as a replacement even though he's only here till january?
