Can any one remember that life like model of a black and white cow in the window of the S&E dairy on Broadfield road Heely, there were some funny story's about it being stolen at one time and pictures of it being seen all over the world.

There were some pictures of it from all 4 corners of the globe with pictures of mount Fuji and and things like that in the back ground I think the star did a story on it at one time some one with a strange scene of humor.

Not as strange as my uncle Pete's sense of humour, he told me that cow supplied the daily milk to the whole of Sheffield. The lying barsteward, I'm glad he's dead! (not the cow)

If I remember rightly there were three cows which were in the curv ed window of the Express dairy on broadfield road. The dairy also had one of the first refridgerated vending machines for milk which was available 24hours a day.

Was that black and white cow over the top of the road (from memory it appeared to be built into the bridge above), I have hazy memories of seeing it as a very young kid in the early 70s when we lived at Heeley, but not sure which road (if any!) it was on...

Remember the cow well in the early 1970s, as kids we were always playing by the river acrosss the road. I also remember the cold drinks machine mentioned by Bus man that was on the front of the dairy. We would get either a carton of milk or orange on our way home from the baths up the road.

The cow stood behind a curving window area on the first floor of the dairy, I think it may of been were the staircase was but and this is the odd thing. i seem to remember it actually had speakers and so every now and then you heard a mooing noise or am I going completely mad?
