So I was on the 82 this afternoon about 2.40 PM, gets to about the bottom of Stannington Road, and the bus driver pulls up and says that anyone wanting to go any further than Hillsborough should get off and get on a Tram, able to use their bus ticket as payment... Anyway next thing the bus turns and goes up Dykes Hall Road up towards Wisewood, since when does the 82 go that way?! In the end I had to get off in Wisewood outside the William Hill shop near the Beehive pub as I knew I could get a 14 Woodhouse bound bus to the Manor from there, so I gets off, stood at the bus stop a few minutes and a 14 comes, I flagged it down and it just sailed past and didn't stop

Anyway to cut a long story short, does anyone know what the accident at Hillsborough that caused all this farting about entailed?

You were going the other way though mate, I was going Stannington towards Hillsborough, you were going Hillsborough to Stannington, so you may have missed out wherever the accident was.

On Loxley New Road a bus hit a car that hit a skip that hit a car (but not necessarily in that order) meaning you couldnt get down from Stannington (according to my partner).

Did you just decide to disregard the advice from the bus driver thinking he was telling porkies ??

From what you have posted he actually advised you that he wasn't going any further than Hillsborough so why were you surprised when he didn't continue to town ??

I wasn't.

I got off in Wisewood as I was heading for the Manor, and knew I could get a 14 bus from outside the William Hill bookie's that goes straight through to Woodhouse via the Manor, saving me from having to go from Hillsborough to Town and then from Town to Manor, meaning that I would only have to pay 1 more bus fare instead of 2.

And no, I am not :loopy: so don't even start

First bus company responded v quick! I had a courtesy car 2 hours later, and one bloke already been paid out. Could have been nasty but luckily no one around and no one hurt (except skip).

Um, no.

I was heading for the Manor at the time, and I knew I could get a 14 from outside the William Hill Bookies which goes straight there, just one bus instead of having to get a Tram then a Bus as I would normally.

You see, I was trying to save time and money, as I was expected on the Vikinglea estate for 4 PM and it was gone 3 by the time I got to the Bus stop.
