I've just purchased a hand-held (well I say that but with the d*mn size of it it's probably pre WW2) and an in-car version which is brand new.
I was wondering if any one here was still into CB's and could give tips on the lingo - I did a little research prior and got Q and 10 codes, but anything I will need?
Hints, tips or notes-taped-to-bricks-at-back-of-head - anything could be welcome.
Thanks in advance all.

I have one in my 4x4 for keeping in touch with other off-roaders, it's also handy for motorway trips to hear about congestion further on your journey.
No need to license them anymore as far as I know, I believe they got rid of that last year.

Is it a legal one? It will have something like CB27 or similar in a circle I think.
IIRC you use ch14 for calling (or ch19 for mobile), ch9 for emergencies, and any other for chatting. Try listening, you will soon pick up the lingo (mostly abbreviated '10 codes' like "whats your 20" = 10 - 20 location).
Jeshh, this is bringing back memories......
