HeadingNorth 30-11-2011, 17:31 sold his better players replaced with average, happens a lot ... happened to both Sheffield clubs for a start! Ah, but how often is that the manager's decision and how often is it a demand from above to cut the wage bill? Incidentally, whom did Bruce betray that people call him a Judas? I remember him being betrayed by SUFC, who committed to providing money for him to spend in the transfer market and then didn't provide any. scottcross 30-11-2011, 18:14 I would put Steve Bruce on par with Lawrie Mcmenemy and Howard Wilkinson as the worst managers that have ever managed Sunderland. Dimitri 11 30-11-2011, 18:37 It's been difficult for Bruce losing Welbeck, Bent and Gyan in a relatively short space of time, so that's not helped in Sunderland's quest to get off to a good start. I've also just read a few articles stating that Bruce had actually recouped more money in transfers than he's spent, which surprised me a bit. Overall though, I think there are better managers out there and Sunderland as a club have a lot of potential, so I don't blame them for wanting to replace Bruce. I'd go for Martin O'Neill who has a proven track record with medium sized clubs. MC Spyda 30-11-2011, 18:46 It was game over as soon as Bent left. They were poor enough with his 20+ goals a season, let alone without them. Glad to see him being an ex blade mentioned in the title and OP. Clearly this had a lot to do with his sacking. taxman 30-11-2011, 18:55 Steve's best ever (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brxOzO5mpcM) goals :D:D:D:D:D:D Love the bloke on the post for the first.....couldn't even be bothered to move speedbirdone 01-12-2011, 13:28 Steve's best ever (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brxOzO5mpcM) goals :D:D:D:D:D:D Love the bloke on the post for the first.....couldn't even be bothered to move Without clicking the link, would I be right in guessing. MUFC 2 vs SWFC 1 ukdobby 02-12-2011, 14:55 No sympathy for him,he walked out of numerous clubs after a short time to bigger clubs, when the dosh came he went running. MC Spyda 02-12-2011, 15:01 ...he walked out of numerous clubs after a short time to bigger clubs, when the dosh came he went running. And so he should. Money talks. I'd do the same., unless it was a club I was passionate about, which there is only 1. ukdobby 02-12-2011, 15:33 And so he should. Money talks. I'd do the same., unless it was a club I was passionate about, which there is only 1. And he's paid the price, like I say no sympathy,he's took his chance and blew it. MC Spyda 02-12-2011, 15:55 And he's paid the price, like I say no sympathy,he's took his chance and blew it. Indeed, he took a chance and it didn't work out. No one to blame but himself. I'm sure someone he'll be back in management before too long though. Joe-b-1 02-12-2011, 22:33 He should be able to get a job soon. At this time of year a lot of the big department stores are looking for a fat bloke who is used to wearing red and white. Are you intending to suggest that when people are offered better jobs with better wages, they should refuse to take them? Robbie Loving 03-12-2011, 08:27 Are you intending to suggest that when people are offered better jobs with better wages, they should refuse to take them? I don't think he saying that at all.... he's saying he has no sympathy for him.... of which I agree. You keep chasing the money, at some point you're going to get your fingers burnt. I'm sure the compensation will help his pride though. |
