I am completely baffled by this. Today I received an email from Amazon (it was legit, as confirmed in the next few moments) stating "Congratulations. As you spent £10 or more on Amazon.co.uk during our offer week, here is your £2 voucher to spend on any MP3 album with Amazon MP3."
Now, I had not ordered anything from Amazon for a good few months so assumed this was a bogus email. So I logged in in a separate window only to find 9 iPod orders over the past 2 days! Obviously someone must have hacked into my account somehow. But here's the weird thing. I had 2 cards active on my account. Whoever logged in has set up a new card that I don't recognise, has used my surname on the invoice address and an address somewhere in Romford.
The shipping address for these items also uses my surname, but with a different forename! There are no family members with this name. There is also a mobile number for this phantom family member.
So, although I am incredibly relieved that nearly a grands worth of Mp3 players I have apparently ordered is not coming off my cards, I am completely baffled at what has gone on here and what the purpose was.
Amazon is looking into it...

keep all details of contact with amazon, this sounds like these could be stolen cards being used on your account!!

Is it a credit card? Then they can buy stuff, not pay it off and it won't affect their credit rating but yours?

It looks like it might have something to do with this.

No it doesn't.
It sounds like someone is using a stolen card through epiphany's account. It's just lucky that they didn't change the password and email address for the account as well.
You should report it to the police Epiphany, change your password, and if you can cancel the orders do so.

Cheers, yes I've changed the password but Amazon asked to keep the orders to take a look.
This thread has prompted me to go into Amazon and change my password. I shall make a point of changing all my passwords at irregular intervals. The scammers and thieves just keep on coming, and we have to try and keep one step ahead.
Just to say I placed an order with Amazon last night and I got a message stating that I would be getting a £2 voucher from amazon mp3. Got this as I'd spent over £10.
I reckon it's a publicity stunt for Amazon - they're obviously selling iTunes 'cards' and are just letting people know.
There is the virus email going around though advising that you've got a free £32 iTunes voucher - so be aware of that.

I think that Amazon are doing their own music download service, and the £2 is discounted from this.
