We had a carpet 'professionally' fitted (very cheaply, I admit!) and we're really pleased with it.

I'm slightly bothered about a slight ripple in the lounge carpet - is this likely to disappear when we move in and are walking on it, or should we get them out to adjust it slightly? Shall we just slice 5 - 10 mil off the edge and shove it up or is this asking for trouble????

OUCH - Should be in 'general chat' or 'Moving to Sheffield' - SORRY MODS!

If it was fitted proffesionaly they should be happy to restretch it for you.
If it's a wool carpet and developed a slight bump you can dampen the area and it will shrink flat with the heating on.
