we need police walking the streets, i for one would love to kick the **** out of these kids but not when they know where i live and would just take it out on my house.

This kind of thing happens to me on a regular basis, my boyfrind has started to go out and rant at them and sometimes that works, but of course sometimes it makes it worse. It is so frustrating that there is nothing that can really be done, I even went to the housing with a video of some kids kicking a big dint in to the side of our car,and practically got laughed out of the place. The lady said 'well what do you want me to do, things like that always happen on that estate'. charming.:loopy:

Give it a few weeks then pick them off one by one.

Just let them know you've seen them Mtheo and keep an eye out for them next time.

Report it to the police.
If you have a suspect then point the police to them.

The more it's reported (because by telling the police you may get retaliation) the more chance the little scroat will get an ASBO then next stop is Juvi!

I wouldn't leave it at that mate.
Failing that walk outside calmly grab the ring leader and shove him in the boot of your car and drive off.
The rest will s*** themselves and he will in the boot. Obviously this may get you in bother but I bet they'll stop vandilising your house :D

Not sure how much good it'd do but Maplins do a quite decent cctv system which hooks up to your vcr for sub-£100. If you're intent on catching the little scrotes in future then I'd suggest this as you'll basically get the "got no proof so can't do owt" attitude off of her majesties finest.

At least with a bit of evidence you can move things along, civil prosecution does nothing but criminal gets them a bit of grief off of the police. Personally I'd be tempted to give them a good shoeing.

i got police round, its only about 3rd incident in over 3 years but they dont half get to me.

i've got someone coming to quote me on new fencing 2mos.... thats a nice expense i dont need.

police were nice, quick and honest about the situation, i told them that i knew nothing would really happen but maybe seeing the car would **** them up a little bit.

and yes i DO blame the parents... seperate topic perhaps.

wouldnt we all... but a crappy fence is easier to replace then a double glazed window and maybe continuous trouble.

its crap that you have to just sit and take it. I guess i will just be one of them people from now on that reports them all the time. sod it, if there is regular police presense then i will MAKE their be by phoning them about anything that i see happen.

You are So ‘rock and Roll’ Mtheo. Are you in the Victor Meldrew Band? Silverstone? Silver Hair more like! Shouldn’t you be out throwing other peoples property out of hotel windows whilst shagging underage groupies whacked on blunts instead of moaning about your fence?

nope, not a cat in hells chance (polices words)

The more they get away with it the more they will try, the more damage. And miniminch...what if they put a brick thru a window where a baby is sleeping? yeah.. would be funny then wouldnt it, id rather be victor meldrew then someone devoid of common decency and respect.

They're probably related to the scroats that keep kicking down the lights on my garden path.

Well I chased after them in the car when they decided to indulge their urge for vandalism on my house and then yelled at them and threatened them I'd tell their parents. It did help that I knew who they were and they were only about 11! But anyway, I rang the cops and they came around, so they do take it seriously. They said I'd done the best thing in giving them a scare too.

I once collared a lad kicking my gate in.

I confronted him, yelled at him about what his mother would say, and got the whole cocky thing back. But...

... he had strolled up the street, giving hell to a small boy with him....

When I laid into this lad verbally, his diminutive side kick was only too pleased to suply the answers to all my questions :hihi:

Not only that, he was delivering papers, and wearing his school uniform
He went a strange shade of green when I asked what school he went to, and read his badge to him - that shut him up :D
There's only one newagent in Woodhouse, so it wasn't difficult to ask the police to follow it up and dress him down :P

...and I happen to be related to the manager of said newsagent if further action is required!

I copped a kid when I lived at Anston, he hadn't seen me watching him vandalising my neighbours car.
By the time he'd nipped round the corner, where I caught up with him he had no idea who I was or where I appeared from.

I tore a sleeve off his jacket & took 1 trainer.

I said to him "when you get in tell your Dad it's the new look for car vandals - and if he wants to come round, I'll tear his arms off too"

Off he went & never saw him again.

Working in groups helps, if your neighbours are having similar problems you should all contact each other when the vandles are about and then you should all start phoning the police, when they recieve multiple calls about the same group of vandles they respond much quicker.
It worked for our area last year, we even had a high policing pressence for about a month which so for has been succesful, no louts for over 8 months.

Thy're that cocky they now prowl in daylight.

Last week a car was broken into right outside some shops opposite a school. Knowing that they're mainly women picking up their kids so there was probably going to be little resistance one of the group smashed a brick about three times against a car window until eventually it gave way.

One of the parents summed it up though by saying that there's not much they could do because you don't know what they are carrying.

Only yesterday the same kids were on the same stretch of road. I sat accross the road watching them eye up my car, but I think they knew I was watching so left it alone.

Someone I know always said that should they be diagnosed with terrible disease and only have a few weeks left that they would go into one of these troubled estates and put things to right by blowing away as many of these wasters as possible.

Not only would it rid the area of scum bags, but it would make a great film as well. Charles Bronson would have been good for the part, picture it, film crew on the Cross, Charlie, Magnum in hand pointed at Chavs head,

Charlie Do you believe in Jesus?
Chav Yeah
Charlie Good cos your going to meet him.....BANG

Kind of gives you a nice warm feeling inside doesn't it.

This may sound harsh but. .

You seem to be seriously irratated by this, I'd say their objective is complete as one of the few reasons they may have done it, is because they know in advance that it'd probably iss you off more than it would others. .

so contrats on giving them the satisfaction. .

Don - like your approach. I've applied the same sort of medicine a couple of times. Get a look at them, recognise their faces, then follow at a distance and intercept them at a convenient (and out of sight) location.

I've managed to corner teenage scrotes and shed thieves on two occasions after tailing them and they never knew where I came from. I thought I deserved an Oscar for my performance as a deranged recently released axe murderer, but after an initial display of teenage bravado they thought they were about to be butchered and fed to my dogs, and left as gibbering wrecks. They used to be regular visitors to the fields behind my house but I haven't seen a glimpse of them for over a year now, except one very brief view from a distance months later (nowhere near my house) and the lad sprinted off like Beelzebub himself was behind him.

I know that Police is the correct option but they’d never arrive in time to find them, and their ‘firm words’ wouldn’t put the little darlings in fear for their lives in quite the same way as mine. I have that as an option because I'm a big bloke in good shape - pensioners and women don't and of course vandals go for easy targets, not hard ones.

Driod's right - neighbors working together is a very good way ahead, not only to pressurise the Police with extra calls, but you can also keep each other's phone numbers and 'ring ahead' when the sods show up and warn people at the end of the road, or the next road, so they get the feeling of people waiting and watching them at every turn.

I have been lucky so far, I havent had this problem, I have had things happen to my car though, but I wasnt around.

Anyway, I have often thought that there should be some way of marking the culprits that you find vandalising. That way you couldnt be done for assault, but if the police came they would have a mark on them. I thought about some sort of permanent dye in a supersoaker gun. It would ruin their nice chavvy clothes too. Yeah it sounds crazy doesnt it? Cheaper than cctv though. What do you think?

barnie41
12-02-2006, 12:32
Nice idea - but you can guarantee that the little darlings would allege criminal damage to their clothes (chavs or not). That would only complicate matters when the CPS have to make their decision on whether to charge or not.

Yeah, but then paying out for a £1.99 matalan t-shirt wouldn't cost much would it? ;)
