I love the blithe comment from a Google minion that we should be happy to give up a little privacy for the privelege of being able to use their software.

Google are, IMO, losing the plot a little.

I think a nice summer project for me might be to write some software to do what the Google desktop search tool does without dumping data to Google's servers.

I read about this yesterday. Google need to take a step back and take a look at themselves IMO.
I also read that this new software can easily be used to look at other peoples computers.

I've been waiting for google to produce an operating system (and i really do think one is in production) but if they pull stunts like this with a desktop organiser, what will they do with a full OS? :suspect:
