Sheffield indie-pop band The Crookes (http://www.thecrookes.co.uk/) will be returning to Queens Social Club on Saturday 16th December, fresh from a stop-off in Japan and Europe, and with new guitarist Tom Dakin playing his first Sheffield show with them.

Last time they played Queens Social Club, the night ended up with one very boozy dancefloor, with tunes care of none other than Steve Lamacq (http://goingdeafforaliving.com/). It was damned awesome. They'll be supported by ace shoegaze-tinged indie band Sissy & the Blisters (http://www.sissyandtheblisters.com/) and Tom's other band, Silent Film Project (http://soundcloud.com/silentfilmproject), long one of our favourite local bands.

Here's a video of the Crookes playing in Japan for Burberry (http://uk.burberry.com/store/?WT.srch=1). Popstars!

The Crookes have persuaded us to get festive for next week's show. We will have an offer on mince pies and mulled cider, lovingly crafted by the folks at the Wick at Both Ends, for all gig-goers.

We'll be announcing the offer very soon, and will also have a very special seasonal video from the band to get you in the Christmas spirit. We'll be posting it up here in the next few days, so keep 'em peeled.

Update: the band have made a stunning festive vid in advance of this weekend's show, feat tour footage from a bunch of the places they've been so far this year, set to the tune of their awesome seasonal song 'It's Just Not Christmas Without You'.

Check it out here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=QQYjmY6vXCw).

Don't forget, this show is tomorrow. The guys from the Wick have mulled a bunch of cider for it, and there'll be mince pies on sale and all. It's going to be super-festive. http://www.gigantic.com/harleylive/event_gce_29687a.html
