Hello from Kentucky.

I had heard from my brother during his family tree lookin' that the family name of Pitcock had come from the Sheffield, Bakewell area.

I would be interested in hearing if anyone knows of anyone with this last name. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

A couple of weeks have passed and no replies.
I am not looking for names. Just the fact if any Pitcock's are living in the area. Thank you kindly.

I know a guy with the surname 'PiDcock' which may be an altered spelling of the said family name and may be of the same tree.

PM if you want any more info!

Hi.
In the 1901 census there was a Annie Pitcock 42 and a Jonatjon Pidcock 46 both living in Shefield and born locally he was a steel worker moulder.

No pitcocks listed in the Sheffield or Bakewell telecom area now.
The 1881 Census gives one family in Bakewll John P is the head.

Thanks owdlad, right now, I am just getting a feel for how many Pitcocks may be around the Sheffield or general area. I do not wish to delve into anyones privacy. Maybe one day, I can make a journey around the area there and since my brother had found that the Pitcock name may have originated around Sheffield, I was just curious. There are many Sheffield last names in my area here in Kentucky. Thanks for your message. Greatly appreciated as I hear more from the Sheffield forums. Thanks!
