I have a flight soon down to the Canary Islands, flying from Manchester with GB Airways ( which operate as a British Airways franchise )
Anyone flown with them on this route and if so whats your opinion on the service, as i thought id try them instead of your regular pack in as many passengers as you can charter airlines.

Hi PB
Doing similar flight soon - perhaps we should compare notes!
Hey i also have a flight with GB Airways very soon down to the Canary Islands flying the MAN - ACE - MAN route, never flown with GB before but have flown on regular mainline BA flights quite a lot, and ive been told that you get the same service as you would with a regular BA flight. That was one of the main reasons i picked GB over a charter airline.
Plus the online check in option is excellent, check in at home then print boarding pass out, drop bags off at the special fast bag drop of area in T3 then stright into the departure lounge.

No. I don't think they do! (http://www.gbairways.com/where-we-fly/route-map/)
I have used them, but it was a few years ago, and they were fine. I also used to know one of their captains but we have lost touch. I thought that GB did the shorter routes and had smaller capacity aircraft rather than long runs to the Canaries.
When looking at flights, the thing that will make the biggest difference to delays, is whether it is a scheduled airline from the national carrier of where you are going, or whether it is a charter. If you travel from a major UK airport on BA, then they will have more chance of getting away quickly if there are any delays. If the aircraft goes tech, then they will have spares. The cheapo airlines like easyjet (and some charter airlines) don't have enough time at each stopover to absorb any minor difficuly.
