Thought I had it bad with my first car - two tyres slashed within hours of having it at home.

Hope you get it back in one piece.

sorry to hear about your car, I used to own a punto several years ago and and so did a few other people on the road I lived on. They were regularly broken into because the locks are very easy to get out of the doors, it led to me having the them removed and the holes filled in. To have actually stolen though is difficult as the immobiliser is appartantly quite good on these.

When you say you have 3 keys, are 2 blue and 1 red?

Because, reading your info suggests it may have had something to do with the previous owner or somebody who knows him/her ;)

Don't really understand what you're suggesting. I bought it off a really good friend's brother, and trust him completely.

Do you also trust any of his ex-girlfriends who may have a key? ;)

hi if you go to www.codeman.org/fiat.html you can read about the immobaliser on fiats ,i own that company and know quitea lot about fiat ecu immobaliser and know its next to impossible to start the car without the keys as the ecu wont find a transponder without a key SO the car will either have been started with the key OR towed away.

Thanks, Codeman - Got a call from the police today - they found my car it a couple of streets away from where it was stolen - the thieves had broken in but given up after they couldn't start it and abandoned it. Without the immobiliser it would have been long gone, so my faith it the fiat immobiliser has well and truly been restored, you'll be glad to hear!

I drove up Greystones Road at 10.15 Monday night and my husband drove down about 5.30am Tues but unfortunately didn't see anything out of the ordinary. :(
