I must admit I don't like what is being reported on Sky Sports News about the involvement of Ken Bates with Wednesday. If he is to announce that he is to put some of is millions into Wednesday it is to be hoped that it is for the good of Wednesday and not for the ego of Ken Bates.
I personally can't stand the man and I can only hope that my feelings about him are wrong.

The guy wants his name in lights by doing as little as possible. He's not the kind of man I'd like at my football club.

I'm a blades fan... but if i was an owls fan i would be against ken bates taking over! He gives me the impression that his main ambition is to boost his ego, rather than that he is particularly fanatical about sheffield wednesday! He should go and buy a monopoly set instead...

In the TV interview I saw, he said he was surprised to learn that "Sheffield is the 4th biggest city in England".

Good to see he's done his homework!

If he knows so little about the place, it doesn't bode well long-term.

Still, like him or not, something needs to be done to stop the rot at Wednesday.

Dennis Wise fell out with Ken Bates some time ago,they are not on speaking terms.

I for one would be up for Bates taking over. Let's face it, Wednesday are fast becoming an embarassment.

I used to follow Wednesday through thick and thin, but it never got as thin as this, and that was when they were in the old Third Division in the seventies under Len Ashurst.

Something drastic has to happen.

Seems to me Chelsea were twice heading for bankruptcy under Ken and was first bailed out by the Harding geezer and more recently by a Russian "businessman". Otherwise for Leeds, read Chelsea.
The Wembley stadium fiasco seems to be Ken's doing, £100'sM's overspent, years late, wrong site, funding bodies (ie. taxpayers) conned.

dave allen loaned the money for adam proudlock but made a song and dance about it in the press but forgot to say we have to pay him the money back plus intrest also his dodgy casino is splashed across the shirts of the players are you telling me a better sponsor couldnt be found also if the training ground is sold allen and co will make money out of it FACT

slightly off-topic (I may get in trouble here) but does anyone know why those characters were attributed to Capt Pugwash as i've checked the websites and none of them (not even Roger the Cabinboy) were ever in Capt Pugwash.
