I read the original thread by Mr Cycleracer and didn't particularly feel it was out of taste nor did I feel it was libel or slanderous in anyway.

Now I know the Admin and Mods don't like people start new threads when old ones are locked and I am fully expecting this to get pulled but I wanted to air my views.

If an organisation or school in this case feel that they dont like how a particular thread is conducted or what is being said even if it's true do they have the right to scream to the site owners and get it removed?

Dont we as public have a right to know what's true or not.
If the school in question wanted to present their view then it would have been welcomed and they're welcome to say their side of the story.
However having the site mods "censor" our Sheffield Forum not only makes the original thread appear correct it makes Sheffield Forum look a bit like they're in someones pocket and will remove thread on a whim as soon as somone says boo to a goose.

Come on JoeP, Tony and Tribe are there some things we're allowed to discuss but not others on this forum based on what an outside organisation says?

I have to say I didn't get a chance to read the whole thread but it seems there were a number of concerns from cycleracer. If I had concerns of a similar nature about a school then I'm sure I would call the authorities and have it investigated, if just for my own peace of mind.

At this point we don't know what the truth of this is (unless I missed the pertinent posts) and I can understand the school not wanting this kind of attention. For one, if other parents get a whisper of this and start relaying some details to their children and instilling fear in them then the effects of that wouldn't do the children any good, especially if it isn't true.

If it is true, then call the authorities as a first port of call. Also meet with the headteacher and explain what you think and if you feel there is a cover up inform them that you will take it further.

IMHO

I totally see where you're coming from.
However a rep for the school could have easily issued a statement if it weren't true. As it is now, they've just had it pulled and to me it looks dodgy and probably true.
