Flying to Budapest on Saturday for 4 days, staying at the Normafa hotel. Has anyone been? What are the best things to see and do? Is it expensive to eat and drink etc...? Any hints and tips?
All advice gratefully recieved!
Budapest is very nice and also quite cheap. Castro is a good bar with good beer and food - but I can't remember what road it's on. Anyway on the same street there are loads of bars, cafes and restaurants as well as an Ibis.
Visit the indoor market hall, heroes square, palce on the hill, thermal baths etc
Taxi transfers from airport cost HUF5000 - about £15 but there's a minbus which is cheaper. Taxi drivers might try to do you so try to agree a price 1st.
Take jumpers. It is not hot sunny climes, palm trees, blue sea, sandy beaches and nor will people be running around in bikinis etc. Unlike the damp and wet cold here I think you can realistically expect the cold to be sharp and the air brisk.
