Mr. Hensby was nice, though all the Mums fancied him which was embarrassing. Agent Gypo 07-02-2006, 16:38 Mr Hensby.......? Can't quite remember him. There was a young art teacher I remember though called Ms Beebee. Unfortunately she's now Mrs Chaplin. Upsetting. sugarnspice 07-02-2006, 16:40 That's the thing that annoyed me about Meadowhead. IanG 07-02-2006, 22:24 Mr Taylor, fit English teacher! Think he was with Miss Payne, the language teacher. Miss Beebee was my Art teacher, she was beautiful, yes! Lovely teacher aswell, one of my faves. Can't believe I forgot to mention her! Remember Mrs Bowker?? Vardy and Morgan were both a bit strange I have to agree! My mum went to school when Hensby was there and she says he's like Peter Pan - always looks the same, never ages! On a more serious note, did anyone hear about Mr Marsden and Mr Mintoft? They have both passed away unfortunately. 2 lovely teachers. What a shame eh. Yeah shame that mr marsden expelled me on my last day at meadowhead still a top bloke didnt know about mr mintoft wasnt his wife a pe teacher ? Mr hensby goes to my gym and he looks exactly the same as when i first went to meadowhead , Glad Mr Morgan doesnt go i would feel like i had to hide my tackle in the changing rooms like at school :hihi: He used to get cained for trying to make all the lads have a shower everyone thought he was a nufty what year did you leave mate ? codeman_cas 08-02-2006, 00:47 I was there 85-90 had mrs north as english teacher ,mr spencer as it, mr wills (see me at the end(favorite saying))for design , mr stocks for grafic com , cant remember any more at moment, i was there on the changeover from jordanthorpe to meadowhead (was going to be called rolenthorpe ggrrr) i remember you kerry ,my brother was in your brother adams class (david morton) codeman ps .. do you remember mr heath the deputy head (smelly) IIMONKFISH 08-02-2006, 01:08 everybody knows adam ngaz kerry UpTheBlades 08-02-2006, 12:07 everybody knows adam ngaz kerry probley because adams never out of the pub ha ha ha AlBal 08-02-2006, 12:42 That sounds about rite Kerry! I went to meadowhead school back in the days when it was jordanthorpe school 1967 to1972! Good Old Miss Prebble I say Anybody remember Mrs Upperdine the deputy head.... she hadn't been there long.. she had to take assembly.... she couldnt calm us down and she had to go out cos she got real upset.. Miss Prebble came in and told us all off!! Albatross 09-02-2006, 05:09 Hey Meggie I know what you mean I was there from 1963 to 1967. Pop Adams (batman)was the head at the boys school then and Miss Prebble was down at the girls school. chattycathy 11-02-2006, 19:41 Hey Meggie Think you were at JORDANTHORPE slightly before me. I started in 1969, the year the two schools combined and it became a comprehensive. Miss Prebble was formidable, but I always got the impression she would much rather we were some posh grammer school. Do you remember the school song? Do you recall Miss Wood the music teacher, or Mr Hemsby, who played footie with the lads at lunchtime? Or how about Mr Smith or Mr Grenville? They must sureley all be dead by now! I left in 1974, but some of my year stayed on to become the first sixth formers. Best days of our lives, maybe. meggie 12-02-2006, 13:31 Hi chattycathy I remember the school song "Let us strive to be worthy and proud of the nameof the school to which we belong" May we build a tradition ???...... I remember Miss Wood she always walked with her head in the air... I think Mr Hemsby is still with us....Don't know about Mr Grenville he had a serious heart attack right at the end of my school year in 1972....Mr Smith i remember was very tall with brylcreamed dark hair.... Do you remember Mr Wilson the maths teacher? or any of the other p.e. teachers? Hows about Mr Fells the biography teacher...he was rather plump! but he was a very good teacher. Do you remember any more teachers? Dannibirdie 12-02-2006, 13:39 I left in 2000. It's about time they started the new buiding, all the time I was there they kept saying they were getting a new building, over 5 years later it's actually happening. Its just a shame we all had to walk between the two buildings. It was so annoying. chattycathy 12-02-2006, 15:46 God your memory is astounding Megie fancy actually remembering the words to the school song! I am VERY impressed. Mr Granville came back to work 'cos he taught me history at 15/16 - I left in 74. Mr Wilson never taught me but I do recall everyone being scared of him. What about Mrs Brown the French teacher with the amazing lippie? PE teachers I can't remember at all probably because I spent of my time avoiding PE at all costs. What was the name of the art teacher that drove the bubble car? And the Male French teacher who was also Brown? Or the RE teacher Mr Fryer who was the butt of everyone jokes? Did you have to cook a meal for Miss Prebble in the economics flat? I think it all stopped somewhere in my time 'cos I can never recall doing that. Did you have to make the elasticated waist skirt in your first year sewing classes, the one you were supposed to wear as uniform in summer? I wpuld love to go and have a look around before they demolish the old place. CHAIRBOY 12-02-2006, 15:46 Does anyone remember Frazer Digby, a goalkeeper who was once on the books of Manchester United in the mid-80's with Ferguson then selling him to Swindon in '86 for £32,000? I believe Frazer was a former pupil at Meadowhead. shefflass5 13-02-2006, 12:29 i went to jordanthorpe which is now called meadowhead.i left along time ago tho.think it was 1988 when i left.i was in form e.my kids now go there.some of the old teachers i used to have are still there.i hate parents evening now tho.mind u one of my daughters teachers remembered my name and asked if she was my sister lol.she said no shes my mum.bet he felt really old lol. Agent Gypo 15-02-2006, 13:16 Does anyone still keep in touch with anyone from school? CHAIRBOY 15-02-2006, 14:37 Graham Vardy - once a colleague of mine - is a good bloke and once was a damn good footballer for Worksop Town. How are you G? DapperDan 03-03-2006, 18:43 I was at Meadowhead 1987-1992. Bit of an old boy. Mrs Payne was my form tutor from year 7 to year 10. She was nice. Found Mr Vardy a little strange, but he was cool enough. PE lessons were always fun when he tought them. There were a few I didn't like. Mr Harrison in Science was an idiot. Mrs Russell in Home Economics used to shout and swear if you put too much water in your flour mix! Mr Pidd for Woodwork, his lessons were a laugh. Agent Gypo 04-03-2006, 15:03 Mr Vardy was great, he was one of the few teachers (along with Mrs Leah and Miss Beebee) who actually bothered to listen to us and try and help. sugarnspice 15-03-2006, 12:27 Mr Harrison in Science was an idiot. Mr. Harrison was my form teacher for 3 years. Mrs Russell scared me to death. And Mr Pidd, I seem to remember, had quite a temper? Pecora Nera 25-07-2006, 14:28 Does any one remember Mrs Shablov I think she was called.... She used to teach music ( I don't think I ever saw a musical instrument all the time she taught us) Had a little sausage dog that followed her around. She gave me A+ in my final report until she realised that my project on Gilbert and Sulivan (Opera). Was in fact Gilbert O Sullivan Afro haired singer. Why what's wrong with it?, Sure it was a knightmare at times but it wasn't that bad. MHgal 17-11-2006, 17:32 Anyone remember the sponsered walks they used to do about every 2 years? I remember one time where we had to walk through this field that was nothing but mud that you practically had to wade through. People kept getting stuck and losing their shoes and socks, that the leaders had to keep going back to help. Then after we got back to school and could go home, most of the pupils were then forced to walk again to get back home because the Bus Drivers wouldn't let anybody on because we all caked in mud. That was annoying  IanG 17-11-2006, 20:56 Anyone remember the sponsered walks they used to do about every 2 years?
