Plain Talker 01-11-2011, 20:00 I'm after the name of the Church when it was a Church. it was the Sally-Army wasn't it? Sagan1 01-11-2011, 20:04 Yeh the Sally Ann came from that church but it has got to have a name. Plain Talker 01-11-2011, 20:10 Sally-Army chapels never had names, and they were not dedicated to any saints, they were called things like "Heeley Division", Park Corps or "Stocksbridge Corps". The one in town was called the "Citadel" as it was the senior place of worship in the area. that's now on Psalter lane. horribleblob 01-11-2011, 20:54 Kent Road Chapel was opened in 1896, first known as "The Adams Memorial Hall", it was later used by the Salvation Army. Sagan1 01-11-2011, 21:16 Thanks, i appreciate that. |
