FREE TICKETS TO ENGLAND'S STRONGEST MAN!

CIQ Update readers (that's the website of the Cultural Industrys Quarter) are being offered free tickets to see a man-mountain who has won Mr Universe more times than Arnold Schwarzenegger pit his strength against 19 other superhumans.
Not your average creative industries story but we’re sure the kids will enjoy you taking timeout from the work schedule and giving them a grandstand view of a new event for Sheffield, England’s Strongest Man sponsored by Zoo Digital Group.

The competition, which takes place at Owlerton Stadium this Saturday,27th March, gives star billing to Eddie Ellwood, who also stars alongside Bruce Willis in the 1997 Fifth Element blockbuster and has won Mr Universe in – in
1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001.

The giants, that also include current UK champion Richard Gosling, will be pitting their might against vans, boulders and other formidable forms of competition as they take part in this brand new event for the country which runs from 11am until 5pm.

Dr Douglas Edmunds, director of sanctioning body IFSA (International Federation of Strength Athletes) who govern the sport, said: “England’s Strongest Man is set to offer genuine blood-and-guts-style excitement. These are athletes with an awful lot of natural strength, a resistance to pain, an ability to go that extra mile and most of all, a lot of bottle. This competition will appeal to wrestling fans that want the real deal – there is no faking it here in the world of strength athletes!”

Tickets (which are normally £8 adults, £4 kids) are being allocated on a first come, first served basis.
