Has the bloke had a breakdown or what

I really dont think the bloke should be going to the world cup in his current state of mind, something is definitely going on in that head of his.

Must admit my first reaction was "Pah, spoilt, overpaid footballer. Spat his dummy out. What's he got to be depressed about..etc etc."

But I guess I realise that monetary well being doesn't necessarily exclude you from succombing to depression, or whatever psychological issues he has at the moment.

Can't see him making the WC unless he has a dramatic turn around both on and off the field. I hope he sorts himself out. I understand he's a nice guy.

Trauma????

Seeing a millionairess, earns thousands per week, plays for one of the best teams in the UK, an england player... and he has trauma.

I smells bull**** I tells ya!

I'd trade you anyday Sol- you come and do what I do for a living, then you'd have depression.

Isn't it ironic that we all say 'Money can't buy you hapiness' and yet we jump on someone rich and talented the second they falter?

Something deeply wrong there in my opinion.

According to BBC news he's back in football now.

His prospects for the England first XI this summer look doubtful....

So what's Ferdinands excuse refering to his Backheaded almost own goal and waist high lunge that got him a sending off. Between the 2 of them England have "No Worries" in defence. Thank God for John Terry!

John Terry is overated. He is well protected, and his regular handballs may costs england this summer.
Yet to be REALLY tested at international level.

I suppose the player awards he got last year were over rated as well. How many points are Chelsea clear at the top, and how many players in Chelsea team play for England, I forget?

John Terry and Frank Lampard can win as many awards as they like mate- the world cup is the acid test for me, against players who are really world class.

The only player who is going to come good out of the england squad yet again will be Rooney if he keeps fit- mark my words.

Forget all this 'the england squad is world class' ******** - we shall see @ the worldcup.

I'm not one to band about the 'world class' tag, but I really do consider Rooney and Gerrard world class. There is a case to suggest Ashley Cole since I don't know a better left back. Maldini? Perhaps. Not seen anything of him this year and only the final from last year. I think we have a mighty fine team. I think we have an excellent keeper, superb back 4, superb strikeforce, although I believe our midfield needs some tweaking. Personally, i'd like to see gerrard moved onto the right (where he's been playing brilliantly for liverpool), with carrick parterning lampard in the centre - though that pairing would lack pace.

Lampard is the mutts as well. Ashley Cole has always looked better going forward than defending.

Well what does their fellow professionals, managers, journelists and most of the respected pundits around the world know? Also by your "acid test" George Best, Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs, George Weah, Eusabio, Stanly Mathews, Jimmy Greaves et al were not really world class?

My take on this is that certain players knew the NotW had been digging and that this article was coming out. Perhaps it affected certain players more than others? There may be more to follow, as these descriptions do not match the pair I was told about.
Looking at the Betfair 'Soccer Forum' site this afternoon, there were some comments aimed at a player of Spurs, so their knowledge seems to tie up with my alleged account.
