Luckily I realised and managed to carry on talking and cover it up. I have never mixed names up at that "crucial time" (I don't mention names) speeed 03-02-2006, 13:33 Yep a couple of times, I wouldn't recommend it though! coral_amber 03-02-2006, 13:34 When I started seeing my hubby I once called him my exes name :o I soon regretted it, but he forgave me. Bless him he's a sweet guy  dibsy 03-02-2006, 13:36 I've done that too, called my b/f by my ex husbands name.....I just laughed and said sorry. Titian 03-02-2006, 13:37 Never. It must be because there has always been an amount of time between my relationships. But..............I did call my husband dad! Well, he is 10 years older than me and must have been nagging like my father. Hecate 03-02-2006, 13:43 ...But..............I did call my husband dad! Well, he is 10 years older than me and must have been nagging like my father. You might find some useful information about that here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freud) ;) . sTaGeWaLkEr 03-02-2006, 13:56 Earlier this year, I was dating an Italian guy living in London. Once, when I was down there for the weekend, in his sleep, when we were all nicely snuggled up and fast asleep (well, he was) he called me Paul! My name is NOT Paul.... He called it me not once, not twice, but three times during the night! :o Needless to say that ship never sailed! ***:)*** sparklygem 03-02-2006, 16:32 ive done that once, said his mates name!! :suspect: Angel05 03-02-2006, 16:52 I've been guilty of it... but when you've lived with someone for many years and someone new comes into your life... i think its only natural... I know my Mum's called her husband by my Dads name in the past... i dont think there's any harm in it... its just a slip of the tongue and my parents were together 25 or so years... so you can hardly blame her :) I was called Sarah a few years back... when we were having a cross word... he looked me in the eye and said "oh come on Sarah" Sarah wtf? i mean what brilliant timing! when your trying to make up over a cross word! and he calls you by another name... steviewonder 03-02-2006, 16:54 I've nearly done it loads of times....never actually said it though...:hihi: cgksheff 03-02-2006, 17:50 Have you never heard of "Rodeo Sex"??:hihi: Mz_BaBe 03-02-2006, 17:51 Have you ever been intimate with someone, and accidently called them by someone elses name? Freudian slip I expect. Ive had it done to me too! GothicCharm 03-02-2006, 19:22 I keep calling my boyfriend steve when I'm on the phone to him......... :suspect: what can I say they sound almost the same... oops... HappyHoosier 03-02-2006, 21:08 Shortly after we broke up, my ex began dating a woman with my first name. How convenient.:suspect: I find it less confusing just to shout, "Oh, God!" at the appropriate time. Prevents embarrassing mixups. Titian 03-02-2006, 21:10 You might find some useful information about that here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freud) ;) . Well, not freudian, but Spyro feels the need to use "was" to replace "were" in order to reaffirm his "street" status on the forum. Doing this he sets out his stall as an alpha male in a place where only his typed comments can be judged, not his physical attributes or more personal gestures and displays. :hihi: Hecate 04-02-2006, 16:43 Well, not freudian, but Spyro feels the need to use "was" to replace "were" in order to reaffirm his "street" status on the forum.
