Groanbox + The Blackbirds at The Redhouse, Sunday, 30th October 8pm

I am tremendously excited to welcome back one of - in my opinion - the best live Americana bands around. As well as their down-home stomps, their influences move through North Africa and the Middle East with a host of weird and wonderful instruments played along the way.

Their last album got a heap of well deserved good press, with a 4-star review from the Guardian. Stupendously good musicianship throughout but in my opinion the most important thing - brilliantly crafted songs.

They will be supported by my new favourite Sheffield band, The Blackbirds. Dirty electric blues played with fun and energy. Very sexy indeed.
