I would have thought that if you go to Harrisons on London Road, they may well know a contact number for local societies.
I hear there's an exhibition coming up at the botanical gardens, so you could go along to that and ask.
Anything on google?

The Northern College Barnsley do short Digital Imaging courses, some of which are free. See the website www.northern.ac.uk. Some courses are weekend residentials with free food and accommodation. They offer these to people who have not had the chance to go into further education.

Hey everyone.
I'll be in Sheffield for 8 month (October - May- and I'm really interested in PHOTOGRAPHY and I mean films and studio works with filtered lights and stuff.
So I want to meet Photography Friends and some studio people in order to continue with my passion.
Fell free to help and guide me.
Thank you.

There is a photographic society in Stocksbridge see here:
http://www.stocksbridgephotographic.org.uk/
Sheffield Libraries have a database of local clubs here:
http://www.sheffieldhelpyourself.org.uk/
Bear in mind that many clubs are a good place to meet people and learn informally, but a taught course may be better if you want to really focus on your technique

I'm so sorry: first time I use a forum so I do apologize for this mistake and I'll do my best for my next posts - if I am still a member ?
One more time: SORRY if I bothered somebody.

It's pretty much a photography club on here. We organise meets typically once a month (tho July's meet fell apart) and a number of people have their own photography expeditions which they're often happy to have others join too. Then there's the monthly competition and the threads of questions, advice and general photography crack.
I've had a few evening trips out to the Hope Valley and Stanage edge recently - trying to catch the last hour of sun and maybe even a sunset if conditions are good. I'm quite happy for others to join me tho it tends to be short notice - I decide when I see what the weather is going to be like that morning or perhaps the evening before if I'm really planning ahead!
