I have a vauxhall vectra 1.8 club, W Reg.

The problem is it stalls at junctions and idles irratically. I have been told it is the idle control valve that is clogged up with carbon and gunk!.

For some of the older models there is a modification kit to stop this happening but there isn't one available for mine.

My options are, have a new valve body fitted at a cost of a few billion quid, Or, Clean the valve with carb cleaner e.t.c.

Has any of you had this problem? Have you managed to fix it?

Can anyone give me a detailed discription of what to do? I would be most grateful.
