Can anyone remember the chip van that used to park near the magnet,? Southey green year,s ago, talking about twenty year,s ago?
I can I feel really old now

Remember it well,the fishcakes were potatoe and fish mashed,not yorkshire as we know it,I think they also had a shop at the bottom of Newman in Wincobank.

i remember that van, it belonged to a chap called hanson, his son (him who is always smiling) runs the chippy at the bottom of southey hill, i think the van sold its last fish supper in 1976 :) :)

I remember a bloke called Don who sold pie and peas /whelks/hotdogs etc from a small van outside the magnet in 66 we had motorbikes then and hung round the magnet on a friday night we'd come back from town ****** up and i'd buy a hotdog and whelks 4 mi supper buy the time I'd got home I'd spewed em back/greeeeaaaat times.

There used to converted static caravan chippy that used to park outside the High rise flats at stannington 20+ years ago.
