Bowen was on a tv nostaliga problem. Said something like they had a really cheap deal on a load of boats:

For lots of the shows, they had a boat and something else out the back.

-If anybody lost, they brought out the caravan (or similar)..............'what you could have won'.

-If somebody won, then, surprise surprise, it was the boat!!!

I've heard this rumour too!

usually they would have won a speed boat if they lose, but if they'd won they get a toaster! excellent! You can't beat a bit of bully! :hihi:

Jim Bowen....I cringe with laughing :D

How on earth did we watch that at the time?

No wonder the kids of today think we are bonkers.

Still, you gotta laugh, ain't you..... or is it cry, at our innocence!

ITV at its best............. viewers at their worst.

Followed by Bob Monkhouse with "The Golden Shot"

I despair at my youthful years:D

Found this posted on another forum;
Darting gameshow Bullseye is to return with all-new episodes later this year.

The series is the latest format in the genre to be revived: other shows making a comeback in the coming months include The Price Is Right and Family Fortunes.

The new Bullseye, to air on Challenge later this Spring, will retain many of the original elements of the competition, including the revolving board, Tony Green the scorer and Bully.

"My time on Bullseye was one of the best times of my life and I'm very pleased to hear that it is coming back for a new audience," said original presenter Jim Bowen, who will not be back to host the new version. "I want to wish the production team and the new presenter my blessings, whoever it turns out to be."

Bullseye aired on ITV between 1981 and 1995, at its peak drawing 15 million viewers a week.

No idea who is set to front it as Jim Bowen won't be but it appears to be on the cards for a return. There's some suggestion that it may be Dave Spikey (Phoenix Night's Jerry St. Clair) but that's yet to be confirmed.

Super, smashing, great:thumbsup:

I have to confess that I was in the studio audience for 2 episodes of Bully back in the early 90's.

It was an excellent evening and Jim Bowen was very funny off camera. I got the DVD game this xmas as a present but its not a patch on the real thing.

Some programmes just wouldn't work nowadays. Does anyone want to remember "Double Your Money" with the chance to win up to a thousand pounds?

Or Criss Cross Quiz? Noughts and crosses with questions?

There are those that say TV went downhill when they did away with the potter's wheel...

It won't be the same without Jim Bowen. Is he going to host it?

Bring back Knightmare! Apparently there's a pilot episode of Knightmare VR available for download on Bittorrent but I've scoured all the main torrent sites I know and can't find it anywhere :(
