When buying humungous big bags of dorito's or crisps I used to like buying those jars of salsa dips too. They used to do jars of Cheese dip too. It was really cheap and nasty looking and tasting, but.....for some reason....I rather liked it. It was the same kind of jar as the other dips. It was bright yellow with jalapeno's in it I think. I'm not talking packet cheese sauce or fresh fridged dips here.........I need the jar cheese! Where's it disappeared to?
Anyone know? was it re-called for being way too bad?

I don't think that you are wrong.
I also remember a Doritos Cheese Dip (similar to the gunge put on Nachos at cinemas!).
Checking on their websites though, it would appear that they only do three dips now. 2 Salsas and a Chive & Sour Cream.
The cheese has been moved into the "crisp/nacho".

when you say it's been moved.....does that mean I'm just looking in the wrong place?
Is it still available?
Have you seen it for sale anywhere?
:help: the cheese hunt continues......

I suspect that it was deemed a poor retailer by whichever company produced it and they discontinued it. Albeit much to the dismay of cheesy dip lovers such as yourself but unnoticed by the rest of us.
hotdogbird,
I think I know exactly the stuff you mean, because my youngest is addicted to it. We don't like to let him have it too often, because it's loaded with salt and fat. But it sure is good. Heh.
This it? http://www.fritolay.com/fl/flstore/cgi-bin/Nutrition_ProdID_3185.htm
If you can't find it in a store, and you can get your hands on Velveeta cheese and a small jar of salsa, you can make a reasonable substitute.

Thanks Sierra. !!!
Isn't the Fritolay brand a foreign version of Walkers?
It certainly looks very similar.
Where can I buy it? I've not seen it anywhere.
I'm really really craving this stuff now. haha
hotdogbird, I sure wish I knew where you could get some, but unfortunately, I don't live in the UK.
Walkers is a sister company to Frito-Lay and both are owned by Pepsico, so I'm not surprised that their products look similar.

The following was one of my favorite things to eat when I was sixteen, was svelte, and had a cast iron stomach.
Open a snack size bag of fritos corn chips.
Dump in a good sized spoonfull of chile con carne, or regular chili with beans works too.
Add a handful of shredded monterey jack cheese. If you don't have any, a handful of shredded cheddar will do.
Top with some chopped red onions.
Wait a minute or so until the chili has a chance to seep down into the chips, and the cheese starts to melt and gets all gooey. Eat with a spoon, fork, or your fingers.
Anyone still with me? Or has everyone run screaming? Heh. They still sell this stuff at taco trucks, roadside stands, drive-ins, rodeos, and county fairs here in California.
If you want, it also makes a good appetizer and you can make it in the microwave as well, but the oven gets better results.
Frito Chili Pie Casserole
Yield: 4 Servings
Ingredients
3 c fritos corn chips
1 lg onion; minced
1 cn chili (19 oz.)
1 c american cheese; grated (it says american cheese, but you can use any cheese you like)
Instructions
Place 2 cups of corn chips in a baking dish. Arrange chopped onion
and half of the cheese on the corn chips. Pour chili over onion and
cheese, then top with remaining corn chips and grated cheese. Bake at
350~ for 20 minutes. Makes 2-4 servings. Or in the case of my former brother in law, one BIG serving.
