I realise that this entire section is dedicated to going out in Sheffield, but I was wondering if anyone has any further suggestions for young people such as myself.

As a student studying away, I don't get back to Sheff all that often, so lets say I'm a little out of touch.

When I visit home this Easter holiday, I ideally want to go to student orientated places, but as the majority of students will have also gone home can anyone suggest what the best bets would be in the city centre?

I'm open to all ideas.

That would all depend on what music you like my friend.

I'll listen to any music.

But where exactly are these places, what kind of places are they and what are the best nights to go?

Ahh, well.....I'm not into the Headcharge scene, not my sort of music. I like my live music and my rock music. Free entrance to all live music nights at the Classic Rock Bar......sensibly priced drinks and a happy and friendly atmosphere.

Hed Kandi once a month at Gatecrasher1/Republic is also wicked, but I'm still gutted it's not at Bed anymore.

As for Bars, I'd defininately recommend The Harley as it's the best bar in Sheffield thesedays. If you've been away you'll probably never have heard of it, but it's been revamped completely and it's wicked.

It's just at the end of West Street, where it meet Upper Hanover St, next to the Student HSBC. It's open til 12.30am everynight and has some wicked nights on and is always cheap. It reminds me of the Forum, but without the arsey crowd, much more laid back.

Go on a Friday for 118192 where all drinks are...you guessed it...£1.18 or £1.92!!! Bargin at the weekend. Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays are really good too...see you there!!

Pilon,
There's a lovely pub on Parson Cross called "The Beagle" which is always a great night. You can soak up the friendly local atmosphere, and listen to a wide range of eighties music on the juke box. If you like snooker, we have a table. Little wonky maybe, but it does the job. Darts? play 'em all the time. The beer is Tetleys at its absolute best.
Come and see us, or better still, ask your dad about it...
