got a song on cd, wondering if anyone knows how to put it up somewhere on the 'net so other people can hear it......?:)

Rip it to mp3 or wma (using MM Juke Box or Media player (or similar)) and then upload to some website, one of the many 'free' hosting sites, or one of the many free music/artist hosting sites... then give out the link.

some guy i know wrote a song and put it on a cd for me, just thought it would be nice to let other people hear it, but if its gonna lead to copyright breaches and stuff, dont think i'll bother:rolleyes: :(

i still havent found anywhere i can put a song on the net.
its on a cd, and i wish to somehow turn it into wav.file or mp3 or whatever, load it from my cd onto the 'net so everyone can just click on it or download it and listen to it.
anyone any ideas as to where i could do this?

download EAC http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/
install that, change a few settings, you may need the lame encoder tho, http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Lame_Encoder.htm, stick lame in the eac folder for safe keeping, then eac will look for it and find it easily enough

once eac is set up, select the required track and click mp3 to rip to wherever on your computer youve set as the default folder to rip things to.

once its ripped, locate the file, rename it to the proper title, select the id tag section eac and rename the id tag correctly (if needed)

now find somewhere to host it, the easiest place would be a filesharing website like www.yousendit.com or www.rapidshare.de, upload to one of those and give people the link.
or you could join and upload to a proper music site like dmusic

Not bad,might sell a few copies locally depending whats on the rest of the cd.
