Hi,

I know there are other NYE posts but I want to know any ideas or suggestions of a very special and romantic NYE as its mine and my girlfriends first NYE together. It can be in Sheffield and surrounding area or elsewhere.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance.

what exactly do you want from the night?...

getting smashed and dancing until 8 in the morn? then a club in town, DQ, Plug etc,
or Romance? hotels around town out of Sheffield will probably do a dinner and dance NYE package with money off booking a room i bet, just google it and see what you find :) :)

yeah i think post 2 covers the ideas really

If you don't want to be wandering from bar to bar then booking a hotel dinner/disco/stay night will probably be the best idea, but it all depends on what you both like - - if you are wanting to book something like that i guess you would have to be doing it asap as think they book quickly....

you could also go for a meal in a restaurant and then into town

Go for a nice meal but I would not recommend town on
NYE it can be hell.

Stay in, unless you want to be surrounded by bladdered once-a-year-drinkers

Surely you can create a romantic night at home, food, wine, l'amour

Why not rent a nice cottage in the countryside somewhere, get a nice roaring open fire going, a nice fluffy rug laid out in front of the fire, a bottle of champagne, some strawberries and some nice classical music playing in the background then just do what comes natural, leading up to a major crescendo for midnight ;)

It used to be down to the local and enjoy the half hour extension or stay in and let in the new year with Andy Stewart and the White Heather Club. If you can't find something better to do these days you never will. ;)

I prefer to stay in on new year - as I hate having to pay to get into pubs/bars that are free the rest of the year to then spend half the night queuing for drinks, which then tend to end up getting spilled all over my outfit as its too busy to even move. . . .

Hi people,

I do love that suggestion of a cottage with open fire - I am currently trying to find such a thing.

Any ideas?

If not it will be a nice meal in with wine etc. possibly get some fireworks on the go

Get some Beers or a nice Bottle of Wine in, and stay in/invite friends round, beats going to some expensive ticket only event in Town or wherever where you get fleeced on the price of drinks just cos it's a special event ie NYE.

Hire a camper van, take her into the middle of no where and whip out a bottle of champers while knocking up a delicious supper on the stove.

Then roll the bed out a nd snuggle up.

Just make sure you hire one with toilet facilities - ladies don't like running out in to the cold to wee in a bush.
