View Full Version : Is there a demand for a nice rented room in a family home?

We are thinking about whether to rent out one a room to help out with the mortgage.

We are in our 30s, lovely house, nice chilled people, no kids yet - is there a demand for this, or does everyone want to live with party people? (we're not sad, we just like being chilled out at home)

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I doubt there's much demand for this, but I am in this situation, so I might be able to help. I live with a family who also have two other lodgers. The house is in a lovely peaceful area, yet its only 20 minutes walk to university for me.

I've got my life just how I want it, I live in a beautiful home, in a nice area, with somewhere safe to park my car. The house is quiet, so I can get my head down and do some uni work when I feel like it, or just toddle down the road and meet my friends and dance the night away.

Not everyone likes to live with party people, I certainly wouldn't like it. I suppose its all down to the person you're letting it to, really... I know my landlady wouldn't take too kindly to me dragging 20 or so people up for a room party, but she knows I'm not that kind of girl! My home is my retreat and I go out of it to have myself a wild time :P hehe

Thank you for your reply - really appreciate it. If you know anyone who might be looking in a couple of months....;)

Hi

I am looking for a room for a couple of months. I'm mid thirties, and pretty calm. What area do you live in?
