But installing stuff that your reseller didnt provide will alter the registries and unless you get them to install your stuff it may mean they will not accept responsibility in the event that your laptop then starts to play up.

a manufacturer will never take any resonsibility for software problems. Basically it's not their fault unless they write the software. What they will do is recommend that you restore the laptop to it's default state using a restore disk or equivalent.

None of that affects the warranty however which is for the hardware, not the software. If the hardware fails it's irrelevant what software you do or do not have on the machine, it is covered by the guarantee.

i have an acer laptop and its got that on it, if i was you id leave it alone, especially with it having the display settings, and something called acer eRecovery, which im guessing you will need if anything goes wrong with the laptop.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO SUBMIT INFORMATION PLEASE DONT SUBMIT RUBBISH ANY SOFTWARE YOU INSTALL ON A PC IS MEANT TO BE INSTALLED AND AS LONG AS THE SOFTWARE IS DESIGNED FOR THE OPERATING SYSTEM THE SELLER CANNOT REFUSE TO HONOUR ANY WARRANTIES IF FACT THE OPPOSITE APPLIES IF THE SOFTWARE DOES NOT WORK YOU CAN ARGUE THE PC IS NOT FIT FOR THE PURPOSE IT WAS SOLD AND GET A FULL REFUND THE REGISTRY VALUES ARE MEANT TO BE CHANGED EVERY TIME YOU BOOT UP YOUR PC WOULD.nT it be good if every time you wanted to install software you had to trundle off to your retailer to have it installed and removed you THICK PERSON

I think that what wendygs was trying to say is that the manudacturer will take no responsibility for the pc not working if they can suggest that it is a software fault.
The first thing they will do is have you perform a restore, thus removing any programs and probably any data you have created.

For someone with 4 posts to their name you should probably be a little less keen with the insults as well.
