I'm sure I am going to be unpopular but I wonder how many people agree with me that there is too much football on television (BBC in paricular). This weekend it was on Staurday night at primetime 5-30PM until about 7-40PM (2hours 10mins) then bloody hell it is on again about 5-0PM for another 2hours 10mins. surley this can't be right. There are other people apart from football fans that watch television at primetime who would like to see some other entertainment from football. I consider there is enough football on TV at other times without putting it on at these times, put it on at midnight then true fans can watch it and leave primetime TV to the majority.

Then it wouldn't be 'live', which would defeat the object of the programme.

See your point though, I get fed up when famous people die and we get force-fed their funerals, biographies, obituaries etc,- on ALL channels - even when most of the public couldn't give two hoots about these people

Ah bless. You'll miss Somgs of Praise now! Have you only got one channel on your TV or something? I think there's too much news on TV. It's always on BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5!

Spot on Riot. If you dont like the football, then turn the channel over. Its not everyday that the FA cup is played. Just like I dont like coronation street being on at prime time, so I switch to another channel. It isnt rocket science.

In the "old days" if we were lucky we'd see highlights of one match a week!

So one of the greatest games ever played in this city - if not the greatest - , Wednesday 5 - Man Utd 4, September 1968, lives on only in the memory of those still alive of the 55,000 crowd who attended.

Would have been 6-4 these days because Johnny "Lino" Fantham wasn't interfering with play when Megson's screaming cross shot broke the back of the net.

The youth of today, grumble, grumble etc...................

In the "Old Days" we could all afford to go and watch!.
Walks off muttering about Sky TV and money.

The BBC doesn't actually show much football at all. They show a few matches from the FA cup, the World Cup and highlights late at night on Saturday night.

That's nothing compared to the huge amount a women's programs they show... the daily soap operas, the "reality" shows, cookery programs, World Knitting championships etc etc.
