Has anyone got any info on derwent village (under water). I have searched on here but cant seem to find anything.

Picture sheffield, has a lot of photo's including the building of the dams key word LADYBOWER.
A lot of books have been written about this subject I have around 5 of these some may be out of print but the Sheffield shop Surrey St may help.

there was a thread on here about the villages under the resovoirs including a few pics from a book but i seem to have lost it :P

When I was in the Cubs we went quite close to Derwent village to camp for a week and enjoy swimming in the river. As a youth, I recall staying at Derwent Hall which was then a Youth Hostel. There was talk of taking it down stone by stone and shipping it elsewhere, but it never happened. A great pity because it was panelled entirely in oak.
