Hi,can anyone recommend a site/shop to buy ink cartridges for a HP PSC 1210,i really dont fancy paying around 20 quid, when i can buy a new set up for not much more,,,or can anyone recommend a decent printer to buy that doesnt cost an arm or a leg for replacement cartridges?

yeraknow 29-01-2006, 11:33 i would recomend an epson printer, cheap ink and reliable printers
roughly 80p a cartridge
Keep well away from Lexmark, and other cheap brands, you'll be looking at huge prices for cartridges, I've just bought 6 replacment's for my cannon ip200 bci24's from www.ebuyer.com for £15 inc. postage, there are non cannon, but rated very well. Cannon ones are about £10 each.
sTaGeWaLkEr 29-01-2006, 13:52 My three printers are always running out of ink
I use cartridge world, which works out at about half the cost of regular cartidges.
I've been using them for quite a while now and have no problems.
If you're a business account holder, they will even collect and deliver your cartridges :)

However I think you'll find that Epson recently won a court case to prevent other companies reproducing cheap ink cartridges and it is expected that other printer manufacturers will follow suit.
carcrash 29-01-2006, 14:07 I get mine from a shop on London road just up from the cremorne.
I always get mine from valueshop (http://www.valueshop.co.uk/) cheaper than anywhere else.
We get ours from the computer fairs at Don Valley Stadium, first weekend of every month... So there'll be one next Saturday and Sunday 10 AM - 3 PM.

Try this for saving on ink.

mr chris 08-04-2006, 18:39 Or... if you want, try www.inkmasters.co.uk - delivery included in the price (or pay £1.50ish for next day delivery of everything).
I've used them several times and have had no worries. I always use genuine cartridges as I can guarantee the results and they're covered by the warranty!
hockeybear 08-04-2006, 19:33 I've been happy with the results from Canon ip1500, for general use I can get ink from most internet ink shops for £4 for a black and a colour, but for photos use Canon ink about £11 colour £6 black. Just as good results as my old Epson but much cheaper
Dave..
I recommend 7Dayshop.com (http://www.7dayshop.com), they're fairly cheap, but beware the stuff does take 7 days to come so if you're in a hurry, shop elsewhere.
I also find the computer markets at Don Valley on the first weekend of every month to be good for computer consumables.
I recommend www.inkemporium.co.uk i get mine from there all the time.. rather cheap for the epson series, and free delivery as well, normally within 3 days.. had some come the next day a few times.

Heyup
I was in the same boat as you find yourself in now as I also own a HP PSC1350 and was being quoted £20 per cartridge which is a major rip off I think.
The one way around it is if you buy a refill kit which you can use to refill the ink cartridges yourself upto 6 times I think.
I would buy an Epson printer which we have just done and it seems for a full set of cartridges will now only cost us £9/10 maximum.
So my advice - get an Epson!!
StanRobinson 09-04-2006, 18:55 We've got an old Epson 640 and just started getting cartridges from Tesco, Abbeydale Road, much cheaper than previous supplier, Cartridge World.
Cheers SR
I've had cartridges from Asda and from a place in Orgreave ind est called M-tech (http://www.m-techdirect.co.uk/shop/downloads.asp) before. M-tech do refilled ones, and the original ones from Asda I bought in desperation at 1am once :D

I've been to M-Tech a few times as well.. not bad at all.
Only gripe about them- they dont open saturdays any more I dont think!!
Bad M-Tech.. BAD!

Dont bother refilling these or buying the cheap versions! The reason that HP cartridges are so expensive is that they include a built-in print head that is only designed for single use. Lexmarks are the same. You may get away with one or two refills but you could start losing quality after that. With the cheap copy cartridges they cant make them, im not sure if its down to costs or copyrights etc i cant remember, but the way they do it is by recycling. In places like PC World they have bins to recycle the cartridges which are then just refilled, so when you buy a cheap one for a lexmark or HP this is what you are getting. The problem comes as you dont know how many times that cartridge has been recycled before.
Id recommend Canon or epsom for as far as ability to refil goes. I have a canon iP1500 which isnt bad and only cost me about £30 from www.ebuyer.co.uk and that was about 6 months ago. i get replacement cartridges from same place and only cost about £1.50 each. Also i buy bottles of refil ink (diff ones for diff printer brands) from http://www.aktivdirect.co.uk which come in 100ml bottles and its about £15 for a set of the 4, so it works out about the same price as its free delivery from aktiv. also they do a lot of buy one get one free's or 3 for 2's on the epsom replacement cartirdges
Hope this helps,
hazel xx
